BRINGING IN THE LIGHT

CALL TO WORSHIP (from Psalm 5) L: And I will know that I am not alone; P: I am in the company of friends L: in your house of love and praise, P: Covered with your favor, L: Shielded by your blessing, P: I am coming home. L: I am coming home. P: I am coming home. OPENING PRAYER Megan Starses

SPECIAL MUSIC “Home” Philip Phillips led by Adrenaline

PRAYER OF THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY (in unison) written by Megan Starses Dear Lord, Please listen to our prayers, and forgive us even as we stumble on the path back to our home with you. With you, we are in the comfort of your safe embrace. Please cleanse us so that we become better people not only for the sake of others but for ours as well.

L: Let us now pray together the prayer that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ taught us:

P: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

MUSICAL OPPORTUNITIES

CHILDREN’S COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN CHOIRS (4C)

A meeting for parents and children interested (grades K—5th), will be held in the Fireside Room on Wednesday, September 14, at 5:00 p.m. Parents are urged to attend the meeting with their children to learn all about the great musical opportunities we have to offer. Membership in any choir is not limited to children who attend The Church at Litchfield Park. It is open to any child, regardless of church affiliation. Come find out about all the fun!

CHANCEL CHOIR

The 2016-17 season begins on Wednesday, September 7, and we are actively seeking new members! This group sings for the 8:00 and 9:15 a.m. Sunday services three times per month and special church days such as Christmas Eve and Easter. Chancel Choir rehearses each Wednesday from 6:45—8:15 p.m. No audition is required, but the ability to read music and experience singing SATB arrangements is certainly an asset.

ADULT HANDBELL CHOIRS

Heavenly Handbells and Carillon Handbells choirs will begin rehearsals August 31. These groups are directed by nationally-recognized handbell expert, Marilyn Chandler. The choirs generally participate in one worship service per month, October—May. Participation and group selection is based on an interview with Marilyn, but she is anxious to teach and bring new people to the joy of handbell ringing.

INTERESTED?

If any of these musical opportunities interest you, or if you would like more information about children, youth and adult musical programs at The Church at Litchfield Park, please contact Sue Kujawski, musical director at [email protected].
