LABURNUM HOUSE is located in the heart of Historic Somerset. Originally an old farmhouse, we have transformed it into a venue offering modern three star hotel and restaurant facilities, which nonetheless retains it's period atmosphere. Our various-sized function rooms provide the ideal setting for your reception; our restaurant (and accomplished chefs) are able to create gastronomic delights to suit all tastes. Our hotel has various scenic locations which will make the perfect backdrop for your photographs. We are delighted to be able to offer a choice of wedding drink packages, along with a comprehensive range of wedding menus. We are equally delighted to assist you with all aspects of your reception; from seating plans, wedding cake, cars, the photographer and flowers. Function Room: Our function room makes an ideal venue for your Wedding Reception. This is our largest room, catering for up to 110 guests (seated) . This has been recently refurbished, to provide an elegant setting for your reception adjacent to a fully equipped bar which is open throughout the proceedings. It is also an ideal setting for your evening dancing, whether with a disco or live group. For weddings of 50 or less our function rooms can be divided into two different sized rooms, each with its own entrance. You will, of course, be advised on the most suitable room for your numbers. Room layouts vary according to numbers, and type of function selected. Please Note: Buffet meals are popular with wedding guests (due to their convenience and variety). They also generate a more informal atmosphere, with guests able to mingle, but at the same time not being deprived of comfort and service. Restaurant: Ideal for smaller wedding parties of around 10-80 people. This stylish and atmospheric room is especially popular with our smaller wedding gatherings. Whether your guest list numbers six or sixty, they will surely be delighted with the comfort and intimacy this room offers. It also has it's own distinctive lounge bar area with olde worlde fireplace.

Guest Accommodation; many of your guests will be traveling some

distance. Because of this, we offer discount rates in both our Executive and Standard rooms for guests who wish to stay

WEDDING ETIQUETTE SOME USEFUL WEDDING INFORMATION

GREETING

Guests should be welcomed by the “Wedding Party” standing in the following

order: Bride’s Mother, Bride’s Father, Bride, Groom, Groom’s Mother, Groom’s

Father, Chief Bridesmaid, Best Man.

WEDDING CAKE:

Following the formal meal, the champagne or sparkling wine is served and the bride and

groom invited to cut the cake. This is followed by the speeches and toasts. The cake is

distributed afterwards with the coffee.

SPEECHES.

1. The Father of the Bride is the first to speak and proposes the Toast to the Bride and

Groom.

2. The Groom replies on behalf of his bride and himself, thanking his wife’s parents for the

wedding reception and the guests for their presents. If there are bouquets and presents

this is the time to give them. He then proposes a toast to the Bridesmaids.

3. The Best Man replies on behalf of the Bridesmaids and reads out cards and messages.

Booking Terms & Conditions Contract: Persons booking an event are reminded that a contract exists between the Organiser and the Hotel.

Confirmation and Deposit: An initial deposit of £5 per person (based on expected numbers) is required to confirm your booking, along with a letter of confirmation with the wedding date, approximate numbers and times. LABURNUM HOUSE LODGE HOTEL then confirms acknowledgement. This fee is non refundable in the event of a cancellation

Pre-Payment: A further payment of 50% of estimated total will be required at least 60 days before the wedding.

Settlement of Account: Payment of the final bill to be made 2 weeks prior to the wedding, unless arrangements have been made with the Management.

Numbers: Final charges will be based on numbers given 3 days before the function.

Gratuities: Will be most welcome, but left entirely at your discretion.

Cancellations: The hotel reserves the right to make a cancellation charge should a late cancellation be made and we are unable to re-let the date. This could result in a fee of 45% of the total expenditure. We strongly advise insurance cover in case of unforeseen cancellation (Please remember, we are always willing to alter times and dates if the alternatives are available). Laburnum House Lodge Hotel reserves the right to adjust menus and prices according to market fluctuations, but if required will be pleased to give a firm price two months in advance of your wedding.
