Objectives of the EPIF - Enhancing community awareness of environment-friendly products, services, and green technology; - Creating opportunities for manufacturers to introduce environment- friendly products, technologies and services, then establishing and developing business relations, promoting investment and trade, and transferring new technologies; - Creating opportunities for domestic experts to exchange and build up strategies and identify needs and major activities to promote green production in Vietnam and in the region; - Creating an open forum for international and domestic business along with the government agencies and industry associations to exchange experiences and find new elements for collaboration, investment and development in the future; - Honoring and promoting domestic manufacturers together with new Vietnamese brand names representing high quality and market reputation, helping consumers to choose the best-quality products and reliable suppliers; - Building the foundation for fairs and exhibitions on environment-friendly technologies and products in the future. Eco-Products International Fair (EPIF) has been organized by the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) since 2004 to enhance productivity in harmony with environmental protection and socioeconomic development. EPIF has been successfully organized in APO's member countries Malaysia (2004), Thailand (2005), Singapore (2006), Philippines (2007), Vietnam (2008), Indonesia (2010), India (2011), Singapore (2013), ROC (2014), and the 10th EPIF was held in Thailand in June 2016. In Vietnam, sustainable development is one of the fundamental criteria in reforming the model of economic growth as well as the most significant goal. After joining the World Trade Organization (WTO), Vietnam's deeper integration into the global economy, especially via such a comprehensive free trade agreement as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) or the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), brings various opportunities and challenges. In the current context of intensive integration resulting in increasingly competitive pressures on the society and economic sectors, the country will need activities that promote and support firms to rapidly integrate as well as raise consumers' awareness of purchasing products. Furthermore, government policies and regulations need to be more obvious and specific so that green products can gain market share and develop sustainably. Following the success of EPIF 2008 in Hanoi, under the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Vietnam National Productivity Institute (VNPI) in collaboration with Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Vietnam Environment Administration (VEA) and Global Expo and Event Joint Stock Company (GE) will host EPIF 2017 from 11 to 13 May 2017 at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City with scale of 400 booths. With the theme "Green Technologies and Products - Actions for the Future", the EPIF 2017 is an practical activity for the development of Vietnam's economy. Also, this event is of the importance to disseminate and raise community's awareness towards productivity and sustainable development through producing and consuming eco-friendly products, services and technologies. In addition, this is an opportunity for domestic and foreign businesses, manufacturers to promote brands for the benefit of the community and improved quality of life and exhibit and introduce the latest technologies and the green services, thereby establishing and developing business relations, associated investment cooperation, trade promotion and transfer new technologies. Last but not least, the EPIF is good chance for local experts to build national strategies, identify needs and activities that promote green growth in Vietnam.
