Welcome
We are honoured as President of the Library Association of Ireland and Chair of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, Ireland to welcome you to the LAI/CILIP Ireland Joint Annual Conference 2019. The theme of “Inclusive Libraries” is a most appropriate one and is reflective of the new format arising from a call for papers and posters. As you can see from the programme, this change in format has engaged speakers from varied backgrounds all working to create inclusive libraries and experiences for their users. We are very grateful to everybody participating in our conference this year and we look forward to lively discussions and engagement over the coming days.
In addition, we would like to warmly welcome our key note speakers, Erik Boekesteijn, Rosie Jones and Traci Engel Lesneski and we look forward to learning about their unique insights and experiences.
We would like to thank our sponsors for their commitment to this conference, we are most grateful and we urge delegates to visit the exhibitors’ areas to explore the diversity of offerings and new services.
A conference success lies in the networking, engagement and interaction of delegates and we thank you for attending our conference and we hope you have a most enjoyable and enlightening learning experience.
Finally, we wish to thank the Conference Committee for their hard work, commitment and dedication toward the delivery of this conference, Lorna Dodd, Eimear Evans, John Shortall, Fintan Bracken, Eimear McGinn, Shona Thoma, Lorraine Marrey and Lai Ma.
