In the wake of the financial and economic successes in 2014 / 2015 we are encouraged to continue transforming our manage-

ment and production processes TOGETHER to achieve the ambitious targets for the current year.

The past months confirm that customers have confidence in the UmbraGroup brand offering growth opportunities, especially in

the long term.

My visits to the subsidiaries and the days spent in Foligno have convinced me that the team is innovating by mobilizing the best

human resources, production and finance to strengthen our leadership position in the global market and create the wealth ne-

cessary to support growth, remunerate employees and shareholders and sponsor our projects for the community.

The Group is achieving performance in line with budget or even better.

The only gray areas are at the Foligno main facility where the total volume of bearings in 2014 was down 20% and the volume

of EMA sales are lower than budgeted due to challenges with a very important military program; however, the profitability and

the financial position of the companies are above budget.

Nevertheless, in a context where flexibility and knowledge form the basis of competitiveness, UmbraGroup continues to increase

the rotary job and interchanges between companies.

The US subsidiary UCI was awarded a contract worth 5.5 / 6 million for a period of five years by Triumph which allows us to invest

in strategic areas such as sector gears. We also agreed to an outsourcing strategy of some products that will soon be transferred

to the production site in Foligno.

The German subsidiaries KUHN and PKE are performing in an excellent manner. We are increasingly strengthening its presence in

UmbraGroup’s important European market and giving more punctual service to the Schaeffler Group.

In this context of positive prospects for a successful year and for creating new opportunities for growth, I should also mention

three events:

1. The birth of the “ Valter Baldaccini Foundation “ held on May 4th, one year after our Founding Father’s passage to eternal life.

We wanted to create a foundation to provide a more solid structure and foundation to continue implementing the values that

Valter taught.

2. The naming of the street where UmbraGroup is headquartered in Foligno, dedicated to its Founding Father. I want to again

thank the employees of UmbraGroup who were involved in this project and the institutions that accepted and implemented it.

3. The entry of UmbraGroup into the “Leonardo Committee” which welcomes Italian excellence in various sectors of business

that export abroad. An important recognition for our Company.

To conclude, I would like to remind you that being leaders in the sectors where we operate it is essential to change and innovate.

Each of us, with commitment and dedication to work, can make a contribution to our growth. We started a new journey together

and only with patience and with genuine enthusiasm will we be able to transform our company by growing the value of our

UmbraGroup brand worldwide.

Wishing happy holidays to you and your families I share with you a quote that particularly struck me: “A tree whose trunk can

barely be embraced comes from a tiny bud. A tower nine stories high begins with a pile of earth. A long journey of a thousand

miles begins with a single step of your foot. “ (Lao Tse)

18 YEARS MRO:THE STRENGTH OF IDEAS

Left to right: A. Baldaccini, N. Bacelli, A. Marcucci

N. Bacelli and A. Baldaccini

The passing years provide experiences that, as we reach the age of

maturity, we celebrate with a toast for reaching an important mile-

stone. At 18 there is a freshness and ambition to conquer the future

with the youthful enthusiasm and the knowledge that we have the

means to achieve victory. In life as in business, the celebrations are

not just tradition, but also pride in our achievements and enthusia-

sm to develop new goals.

In this spirit, Nicola Bacelli launched an initiative to mark the 18th

Anniversary of the MRO Department with an evening of festivities.

March 7th brought together the current MRO Team, dignitaries,

former employees and representatives from various departments

that interface with Repair. The theme of the evening was “The Sun

Even at Night”, a play on words to give a sense of celebration to

an event born from the desire to make that evening, that night, a

night of sun.

The talented band “The Ikarock” was there to enhance the rhythm

and the brilliant magician Andrea Paris entertained guests with clo-

se up performances. The actor Claudio Pesaresi then gave a master-

ful reading of an excerpt from “Jonathan Livingston Seagull”. The

well-known best selling management training book tells the story

of a seagull who, unlike his companions who are only interested in

flying in order to find food, discovers the beauty of hovering in the

sky. This leads to the awareness that with will and the strength of

ideas, you can get anywhere.

The will to fight and obtain what you believe in are the brilliant

motors of UmbraGroup and its MRO Team that, having come of

age, is enthusiastically preparing to face the new challenges of the

market that will bestow it with new visions of success.

“You can get to anyplace in space and in time that you wish to

go” - says Jonathan Seagull. The MRO Team and its VP know this

well. They know that ideas make the story of our life, and it is

concrete actions and ideas that underlie the success of individuals

and companies. Only with this kind of thinking will there be many

more anniversaries.

EXPERIENCEIS SYNONYMOUS WITH LIFE

F. Boni

My experience at Umbra Cuscinetti began almost thirty years ago.

At that time there were just over 150 of us. We really knew each

other and we shared both our work lives and our leisure time. In

this environment I began the journey of learning entirely new indu-

stries: ball screws first, and then bearings. My period of technical/

commercial training lasted three years and was held initially at the

German Company FAG, which hired me. Then I came back to Umbra

in 1993, when it was sold by FAG and acquired by local entrepre-

neurs (a story you already know).

Since then I have seen the company transform and continue to

grow. New faces of employees and customers have arrived, even

from abroad: new cultures to meet, talk with and engage. All this

has enriched professional and personal knowledge and it was pos-

sible because, based on the relationships, there were feelings of

friendship, cooperation, respect.

These values are those that I have sought to share with everyone

and especially with our dear Valter Baldaccini. How we get along

when talk about family, respect, understanding and humility. But

also commitment, devotion to work, seriousness, responsibility, and

these were subjects we discussed during frequent trips to custo-

mers and with clients at the company.

I was in agreement when Valter said with conviction: “The ‘indivi-

dual is the center of the work.” He was so diligent in caring for all,

even with just a handshake, asking employees if things were going

well at home and at work. Or, after hours of hiking, reaching the

summit along some mountain, resting his eyes on the valley and

inviting me to say a prayer for all our colleagues and their families,

so that they would never lack work and health.

Yes, experience shows that it is especially through work that one

learns to know oneself, to learn about each other and to enrich

ourselves professionally, culturally and morally.

My thoughts now turn to you young people who are in need of a

little help, of a little hope and somebody who believes in you.

Get involved with dedication and professionalism and you will di-

scover that at Umbra, worthy people will be recognized.

Happy Experience!

We are at the halfway point of 2015, ano-

ther year full of challenges, events and op-

portunities. The first half ended in line with

budget expectations and increasing profi-

tability. This result was driven by higher vo-

lumes and an increasingly Lean production

organization.

Last May, the sales force and technical of-

fice met the goal of better coordinating the

activities of marketing and identifying new

markets. It sparked interesting ideas and

observations about possible increases in re-

venue that bode well for the future and the

strengthening of the EMA product.

The reallocation of production activities at

the new site on via Bartolomei will definitely

help us achieve the goal of making proces-

ses more efficient and meeting market ex-

pectations.

It seems that we are reliving, to a lesser

degree, the same feelings and the same en-

stability.

Based on these comforting considerations

we can more enthusiastically turn our ener-

gy toward new opportunities and markets

“thinking out of the box”.

thusiasm as the move from the plant on Via

Piave to Via Valter Baldaccini. In the Umbra

tradition, we will try to share these feelings

and our pride with our clients and institutio-

nal representatives on July 10th.

On that date when we inaugurate the new

plant, we will seize the opportunity to de-

monstrate our technology and design exper-

tise to both current and potential customers

through a guided tour of the factory and

subsequent workshops.

In the second half of this year we are ex-

pecting some important events such as the

delivery of the actuators for primary surfa-

ces and the motor control for the new P1HH

Piaggio Aerospace aircraft.

In addition, we will deliver an actuator to

Trumpf that will be fitted to a new model

of bending machine that will remain in ser-

vice until 2028. This will allow us to count

on a solid base of revenue and production

E V I AAAAA!

Tricolor Arrows

... I continue with my way of using puns to tell you about the inte-

resting things we’ve been dealing with in our Industrial line and,

in this case, even things we will be working on while the magazine

goes to press.

EVI is in fact an acronym coined to identify a project started official-

ly in early 2015, and “advocated” by Senior Umbra Management.

EVI stands for Evolution Industrial Screws, and these three words

sum up the future of the industrial line.

The goal of the project is to develop the Industrial line through

increased profits, optimizing process management, facilitating the

sale of products, and thus increasing market presence.

If the goal is reached, we will be able to increase our market share

by safeguarding customers and, at the same time, we will streng-

then our business in Foligno in terms of sales and increased em-

ployment.

The projects is being carried out by my team and fundamentally we

are operating on two distinct fronts.

The first is to achieve results in a short period necessary to support

the line in an autonomous way and at a level sufficient enough to

create reserves for investment in research and new applications.

This will ensure long-term business.

At the same time, we must face ever-increasing, highly-skilled com-

petition and “low cost.” We also decided to review our internal

organization to see if the current structure is suitable for the chal-

lenges of tomorrow.

In this specific phase that will begin shortly we will have the sup-

port of the lean engineers team together with our two “neo Green

Belts” Simone Pergolesi and Attilio Tiradossi.

So, in summary, Senior Umbra Management told us, get ready...

go... and we can’t say no... EVIaaaaa!

Good work everyone!

Giacomo Rossetti is our new colleague and a recent graduate in

Electrical Engineering from the University of Perugia . He became a

part of our team in March.

“Here at Kuhn I’ve found a stimulating environment full of young

colleagues who, like me, are having their first work experience,

even though they’ve been toughened by several years in the com-

petitive German industrial environment .” These are Giacomo’s first

impressions, and he will assist me in following everything related

to the design and quality of our product.

At the same time we have also begun work on constructing a new

technical department, which is at the heart of production. This choi-

ce is aimed at achieving a seamless integration between design,

production and quality. Its creation is a demonstration of the im-

portance we place on teamwork within our company. In fact, from

the beginning of the project to its completion, the main players in

the various stages of the implementation are almost exclusively

in-house staff.

The new office will provide an invaluable platform where we create

the best products and also provide services that will fully satisfy our

customers in the German market. Clearly, all this will be assisted

by the Technical Department at our main office who, I’m sure, will

supply us with outstanding support.

Today improving the quality of products is imperative for every

company. For this reason, and also thanks to the input from our

customers who require quality balls every day, we decided to create

a testing department under the direction of Reinhard Tilch.

We began testing the 18.256 mm diameter ball that needs to com-

ply with the standard G10 for our customers. Thanks to the increa-

sed quality of the balls, our client, Schaeffler, is producing balls with

lower noise levels in application environments such as passenger

elevators.

The required quality cannot be achieved with our standard process

of final lapping (the final production stage before packaging). In

fact, this includes factors that affect the final quality of the pro-

duct.

Above all, we have to improve the final lapping to achieve the re-

quired quality with cast iron discs and the coolant. After comparing

various manufacturers, we decided on a six month trial using discs

with synthetic resin alloys and lapping oil for testing. The oil is pu-

rified through a filtration system to ensure that the discs are not

damaged due to the friction.

Thanks to these two innovations we are achieving a good, even

excellent quality G10. The next step will reduce the level of damage

to the surfaces and adjust the shape of the curvature required to

achieve the quality of the future standard G5.

Another two machines were recently installed in the test area for

testing balls with diameters of 22.225 and 28.575. For these types

of balls we must first meet our quality standards and then reach the

higher quality demanded by our customers.

Once we have met the requirements with the final lapping we are

presented with the next challenge: washing the balls without da-

maging them and packing them directly to avoid damage during

handling.

All this work is time and labor intensive. At this point we need to

reflect more on the human factor in order to decrease the time

required for processing.

It is only through continuous product improvement that we can

save our jobs in the long term.

Quality... is never finished.

Quality is... a positive, personal approach to continuous improve-

ment.

Quality is... the joy of improving.

R. Collet receiving the United Way Award

Last January Umbra Cuscinetti delivered the first TEAS “Turret Elec-

tromechanical Actuation System” to our customer Piaggio Aero-

space. The Research Center played a significant role in developing

the program: the office in Albanella designed and developed the

electric motor prototype, the electromagnetic brake, and the elec-

tronics for the software and automation. In partnership with E.M.S.

and under the supervision of the Research Center, they serially pro-

duced stators for electric motors and coils for the electromagnetic

brakes.

This important result was achieved through the total synergy with

the analysis team and the mechanical design team in Foligno. This

is particularly remarkable when you consider that Umbra Cuscinetti

has achieved, for the first time, an electromechanical actuator sy-

stem for the aerospace industry designed entirely in-house.

Thus, the investments and the good work of research and develop-

ment in the field of electrics, electronics, and innovative materials

are returning significant results! They have laid the foundation for

achieving one of the principal goals of EMA: design and manu-

facture of electromechanical systems integrating high performance

and quality completely in house, for the aerospace, energy and in-

dustrial markets.

Now two other EMA aerospace programs are under development:

the PAS “Primary Actuation System” and the EC “Engine Control”.

These are two systems for primary flight control. This is an opportu-

nity to gain experience and strengthen our know-how with regard

to fully integrated electromechanical systems. If successful, PAS

and EC will open doors for important new markets and customers.

We are improving, but the road to perfection is still long. In ad-

dition to experience acquired “on the job”, it will be essential to

continue to focus on research activities aimed at development and

innovation in the electromechanical sector.

The prerequisites for a successful future are all there. The ingre-

dients: hard work, continuing to believe and invest in our project

and leading it with the highest level of professionalism.

EXTRAORDINARY RESULTSFOR THE CHEMICAL PROCESSING DEPARTMENT!Umbra Cuscinetti surpassed expectations

with a brilliant Zero-Findings evaluation in

the recent NADCAP Special Processes Audit

for Chemical Processing.

Congratulations to the team and to the de-

partment.

This is a satisfying accomplishment becau-

se the auditor is one of the most competent

and respected authorities in the field of Che-

mical Processes worldwide.

This is a person who knows companies

throughout the world and he told us that

Umbra Cuscinetti is “UNIQUE”.

He has never encountered a company with

our particular complexity and with such a

long list of chemical processes, yet, rarely

does he close an audit with zero nonconfor-

mities.

Special thanks to Team Umbra who planned,

prepared and managed the NADCAP audit

our established customers, but especially to

the growing number of potential customers

who demand qualified chemical processes

for aviation products.

Outstanding results are not achieved with

improvisation. They are achieved through

planning, preparation and working together

and this is all based on great team spirit

and a deep sense of commitment to the

company.

cooperation and technical support.

With these outstanding results, Umbra Cu-

scinetti has reached a prestigious milestone

that few companies can match: the reap-

pointment of a Certificate of “Merit” awar-

ded for two more consecutive years.

NADCAP certification represents the highest

standard of excellence among all companies

in the world. Obtaining the degree of “Me-

THE SPIRIT OF VALTER BALDACCINI

“That which is created by the spirit has lon-

ger life than material things”

(C. Baudelaire)

This spirit gave birth to two unforgettable

days for our Group: All of us were dedicated

to honor our Founding Father, Valter Baldac-

cini, who remains a colossal example of a

man and entrepreneur.

May 3rd

Even a small gesture can help to change

things: this is one of the many lessons that

we have inherited and it inspired us to orga-

nize a pleasant evening on May 3rd.

In collaboration with the theater company

Al Castello, a play entitled “Nothing to De-

clare?” was performed at the S. Domenico

Auditorium.

There was a good turnout to this entertai-

ning comedy which allowed us to spend a

pleasant evening together.

All the money from the ticket sales was do-

nated to the non-profit organization, “City

of Foligno” Civil Protection for the purchase

of a first aid machine in case of hydro-geo-

logical instability, such as landslides and flo-

ods. We would like to thank the Al Castello

Management 747-8 The Boeing Company.

“To Valter Baldaccini, enlightened entrepre-

neur, goes the gratitude from the communi-

ty and institutions,” added Catiuscia Marini,

President of the Region following the Mass,

“when I think of Mr. Baldaccini - she conti-

nued - I think of those who have ideas and

talent, who have entrepreneurial courage

in taking a chance, who know that to do

business one has to face global challenges,

which then become opportunities... with hu-

mility he served his own region, not from the

height of his success, but from the base of

the community of which he was part. “

Our CEO Antonio Baldaccini followed Pre-

sident Marini with these touching words:

“Each of us has felt a part of his grand dre-

am and today we are all witnesses of how

true it is that, in life, desire is power... I am

proud - he concluded - to pursue those va-

lues that he gave us and left us. These values

were valid yesterday and still are today and

they will be valid tomorrow; values to be

exported around the world that will never

change over time. “

These words introduced the naming of the

street, which was held at 4:30 p.m. on the

road in front of Umbra Cuscinetti.

troupe for starring at no charge, a gesture

that highlights the importance of sharing

ethical values to achieve results. The purcha-

se of this machine makes it possible for On-

lus Foligno to be the first organization in the

area to be equipped with this state-of-the-

art machine. So this project, aimed primarily

at our area, can give practical and valuable

help nationwide.

May 4th

The most significant and touching moment

for Umbra was on May 4th: the naming of

the former Via Vici to Via Valter Baldaccini.

The celebration was preceded by a Mass ce-

lebrated by the Bishop of Foligno, S.E. Gual-

tiero Sigismondi who addressed all Umbra

employees. Monsignor Dino Ambrogi led the

religious ceremony: “Valter Baldaccini was

and remains a living Gospel. He combined

professional talent with humanity and soli-

darity so profoundly that he opened all of

our hearts. “

We had the pleasure of hosting local insti-

tutions and living friends of Valter and there

were also a few large customers represented

by President of Boeing Italy, Antonio De Pal-

mas, and Jeffrey Luckey, Director of Supplier

The Mayor of Foligno sincerely thanked all

employees of Umbra Cuscinetti who stron-

gly wanted the initiative. From this day the

memory of Valter will be carved forever in

the collective memory of our city: a testa-

ment to his contribution to the economic,

social and ethical development of our com-

munity. This street is a sign of recognition by

the City Council to a man who gave and left

obvious signs locally, regionally and globally.

Dr. Mismetti then recalled the deep moral

and entrepreneurial vision of Valter Baldac-

cini which is, even today, an example for the

long-standing heritage of the community.

They Mayor’s reflections were followed by

each of us.

The thrilling moment that touched us the

most was seeing the name of Valter Baldac-

see every day coming and going from work.

Valter is with us not only because we can

read his name, but also because we can em-

We are grateful to the City Council, who

completed this gesture in record time, be-

The entrepreneur is the best hope for creating sustainable econo-

mic growth: the expansion of profitable businesses in a global con-

text is the solution.

We have enormous opportunities before us in view of the strong

growth of the world’s population: a billion more people by 2025.

Who do not take risks cannot expect to improve in their field.

Entrepreneurs must demonstrate a strong commitment to the crea-

tion of a better future while being aware of not having ready-made

solutions for strengthening their own brand. Male entrepreneurs

are asked to give more space and power to women, increasing

their numbers in our companies, in view of the increasingly domi-

nant role that they will continue to occupy in the world commu-

nity.

Relationships and networks are essential tools for improving cul-

turally and for integrating in a global context, since alone, we will

not achieve anything really great: business partnerships come into

play.

Every day we are asked to promote change, to spark innovation

and technology. We support humanity and reassess human capital

in order to grow sustainably over time.

It is a duty to serve people, without jealousy and with great humi-

lity, having clear principles that allow us to grow our business and

improve our community. With these ideas, forward-looking entre-

preneurs of today will continue to be successful tomorrow.

In an increasingly global context you should not miss the fun in

creating this new organizational model of management. It is indi-

spensible in overcoming future challenges and transforming them

into opportunities for great growth. However, we do not limit cre-

ativity to our working world because at times, the best ideas come

from outside our walls.

We are open to visiting companies, to participating in events, to

organizing visits or meetings where there is an exchange of cul-

ture and opinions with those who don’t know anything about our

reality. These same external guests could be a useful resource to

draw from, to change our thinking about what we consider to be

impossible.

In conclusion: we are convinced that each of us is able to shape the

future, but we have a common goal: to help humanity.

VALTER BALDACCINI FOUNDATION

Giving continuity to the values, thoughts and actions of Valter

Baldaccini, Founding Father of UmbraGroup, focusing on personal,

educational, cultural and social development. Focusing on personal,

educational, cultural and social development, the Valter Baldaccini

Foundation gives continuity to the values, thoughts and actions of

Valter, Baldaccini, Founding Father of UmbraGroup. The Foundation

wants to spread the values of solidarity and sharing and also pro-

mote the improvement of the social fabric locally, nationally and

internationally. On May 4th, the Valter Baldaccini Foundation was

formed with the mission to export the spirit and values of a man of

profound humanity, a man whose name it bears.

The President is Beatrice Baldaccini, who along with the Board of

Directors will be supported by the vice President, Antonello Mar-

cucci and by counselors Antonio Baldaccini and Luigino Bruni. The

founding members are Poliscom, the Baldaccini family and Umbra

Cuscinetti . They will be joined by an auditor and a scientific com-

mittee. Education, research and development are the three areas

of focus.

On May 19th a press conference was held at Umbra Cuscinetti to

introduce the Foundation. President Beatrice Baldaccini said: “We

feel a strong heritage of values that our founding father has left

us, and this is why we want to bring them not only to our territory,

but to the whole world.” A reality that must live forever, “because

people pass on - added Dr. Antonio Baldaccini - but certain values

remain over time.” Dr. Antonello Marcucci explained that the hope

is to begin to operate nationally and internationally immediately.

The Foundation, based at Umbra Cuscinetti, is therefore a daughter

of the altruistic vision of Valter Baldaccini, who in doing business,

never forgot the less fortunate, the most needy, the importance of

the individual and of human dignity. In the past, he supported many

initiatives whose objectives contributed socially, educationally and

culturally in the community. The same spirit is echoed in the basic

values of the Foundation which will be an active player, a place of

listening and interaction with the community and an advocate that

will not forget Africa, so beloved by Engineer Baldaccini.

UMBRAGROUP MAGAZINE | JULY 2015 | PUBLIC OPINION

HE LIVED THE WRITINGS OF ST. PAUL TO THE LETTERSome portions from the Homily of His Excellency Gualtiero Sigi-

smondi, Bishop of Foligno, on the anniversary of Engineer Valter

Baldaccini’s death, May 4, 2015.

“I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, though

he dies, will live. live” (John 11:25). This profession of faith, that the

Lord suggests to Martha who is crying at the death of her brother,

Lazarus, consoles this assembly remembering the first anniversary

of Engineer Valter’s death. His heart stopped beating a year ago,

but his spirit lives in God and we feel his spirit, like a light breeze,

that soars in our midst. Life is a “necklace of days” that death bre-

aks, and while Easter assures us that shameless death has lost face,

that is our right to have the last word. An ancient Christian author

from the 2nd century, Melitone di Sardi, in an Easter homily writes:

“Christ is the one who covered death with shame and plunged the

Devil into tears as Moses to the Pharoah”. While Satan, inconsola-

ble, sheds bitter tears, the church, exultant, cries with joy!

During his illness, in exemplary fashion, Engineer Valter testified

this serene conviction, that life does not end with death. He lived

the writings of St. Paul to the letter: “if we are children, then we are

heirs: the heirs of God, coheirs with Christ, provided that we share

his suffering, so as to share his glory” (Romans 8:17). After one

year, I cannot help but confide some details from the penultimate

conversation with him some weeks before his death. He received

me in his house, seated in an armchair: he was suffering, but serene;

just the two of us alone without beating around the bush and he

said to me: “I would like you to preside at my funeral”. Overcoming

my initial embarrassment, I replied securely and smiling: “Do you

have any ideas for me for the homily?”. After a few silent seconds

passed, I tried to tell him that death, even in its darkness is a kind

of “buffer” between the earth and eternal life; faith lubricates the

“bearings” of death, reducing the friction that it causes. At hearing

this thought, he confided to me that he was ready to surrender to

God’s faithfulness and to sign, in the faith of the Church, the last

ticket, one for the final “take-off”, with an unknown “landing”,

toward the “door” of Mercy and Peace.

“The faith of Easter, - writes Pope Francesco in the encyclical Light

of Faith - Is not light that dissipates all our darkness, but light

that guides our passage in the night, and this is enough for the

journey”.

Easter is a unique, extraordinary event, that fulfills our belief that

death is not the last word of life, that the stone tomb is not the final

act of our existence.

“The only tomb we love is the empty one; that of Christ the Rede-

emer”.

UMBRAGROUP MAGAZINE | INSIDE AND OUTSIDE

INSIDE AND OUTSIDE

In this edition of Inside and Outside, I decided to interview our col-

league, Chiara Olivieri who works at PKE.

After reading of her experience, I thought it was important to share

it inside and outside of Umbra.

Her story is a good example for many other young people who

want to be recognized at a job that very often involves hard work,

determination and, even though the word has become a bit old

fashioned, I would also say “sacrifice”.

Chiara, before you, I interviewed your younger sister who

lives and works in Brazil. Tell me, is working abroad in your

DNA?

Ahah, Maybe. As for myself, I am driven to get ahead. I have a

passion for languages and a desire to find a job that will make me

financially independent.

You have worked for UmbraGroup since 2013. What brought

you here?

I graduated with a degree in Business Management with a major

in economics from the University of Perugia. After graduating, I en-

rolled in a course in accounting and administration. I did a three-

month internship in administration, and then I went to Leonardo

da Vinci in Portugal for another three month internship. When I

returned to Italy, the job search was not successful, so I realized it

was time to return to Germany.

You assimilated immediately. How about from a work stan-

dpoint?

Before leaving, I sent out applications for jobs in tourism and, after

a few interviews, I was chosen for a six-month internship at a Hotel

in Munich. The time I spent there was very educational, but equally

difficult. I needed a springboard to improve my German and then

to find work in my area of expertise. After a few months, I received

an offer to work at the company where I am now: the UmbraGroup,

where I am responsible for purchasing and accounting.

And how do you like this company?

It suits me well. I like the job and my colleagues are really great. I

see this job as an excellent opportunity for learning and professio-

nal growth.

What advice would you give to young people today who are

facing graduation exams and careen choices?

The advice I can give to young people graduating from school is

not to be frightened by the hard times and lack of work. If you are

passionate about what you want to do, somehow you can succeed.

Also, another important thing is not to let yourself be discouraged

by failures and by “no” and don’t ever say no to winning and don’t

just be an observer.

stre, numero 4 - Maggio 2015, p. 30)

I’ll take this moment to wish you and your family a happy vaca-

tion!
