The day started with the induction of the program by lightening of the lamp and Welcoming address to

Synopsis of the Program
The WING program hosted by NIST, Berhampur started with a warm welcome by the students
of NIST followed by a brief introduction about WING program, incubation support and schemes
by the speakers from KIIT TBI. Around 68 participations were there, mostly students and few
innovators. The hosting and organization of the program was mostly students driven and very
much organized. The guests speaker as provided in the list delivered the talks on their respective
profiles and modules. In the second day a pitching session was organized where around 50 ideas
were screened and top 15 were selected for pitching. All the participants pitched well and
competed for the final selection. Finally, 3woman ambassadors were selected to get on boarded.
The session started with Saumyajit Guha, Vice President, Pad up venture. An MBA in
Entrepreneurship & Innovation from Exeter University and have 18 years of experience with
recognized proficiency in: Startup Ecosystem Development, Investment management, Angel
Investing, Startup Acceleration & Incubation, Incubator Management, Research & Analysis,
Team Management, Process Migration, Operations, Business Analysis. Saumyajit is currently
responsible for the Incubator and E Cell of IMT Ghaziabad. . He has also worked at Indian
Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) and the Start Up Incubator at Indian Institute of
Technology, Kharagpur. Saumyajit has been in UK for 5 years where he has worked for
Chartered Development as IT Project Campaign Manager and with Secure Source as Business
Analyst.
He took introductory session and spoke about the basic concept of Product and idea validation.
The session threw knowledge about the various steps of how to create an idea and convert it into
an enterprise. Along with the identification of the idea, he also helped the students to design a
business plan. It was a hands-on workshop where the students did activities and worked on their
own ideas and started structuring their process to validate their ideas and take it to a level higher.
The next session was taken by Namrata Tatiya, Legal and Financial Advisor, Acculegal Services
Pvt Ltd . She spoke on Company formation & Statutory compliances and Financial & Digital
Literacy on both the days .She gave real time examples and was able to solve the queries raised
by the participants related to the Company formation and the Financial and digital literacy. She
covered the importance of social media for raising fund as well as highlighting of one’s
company. She spoke about the basic fundamentals of finance and money management and the
essential formats for maintaining financial documents for ease of accounting and review.
The next session was taken by Dr P Karthigeyan, Manager, CTTC-IPFC Centre, Bhubaneswar
on Protecting your idea (Patenting and IP). Dr. P. Karthigeyan is currently Working as IPR
Manager at CTTC- MSME Technology Centre ,Ministry of MSME ,Govt. of India, at Odisha.
He holds a Doctorate in the field of Intellectual Property Rights as his area of specialization
includes filing of Patent, Design, Trademark, Copyright, Geographical Indication, Patent
drafting, Patent prior art Search- Novelty search / Freedom to operate search, IPR Infringement/
Prosecution / Litigation analysis , Technology landscape- competitive Intelligent analytics- IP
Technology Licensing & Commercialization. Before joing CTTC, has has worked as Former

Research Scientist , IPR & Incubation Division , I.I.T. Madras.
He explained to the young minds the importance of patenting and the different aspects of
patenting. He gave real life examples of product like the ingredients of coke is a trade mark and
cannot be copied by anyone. He walked them through the process and time line of patenting. He
spoke about the concepts of trademark and copyright and the differential elements of each while
providing real time examples for clarity in understanding. He gave example of Water bottle
companies like Bisleri and Bilseri, who copied and made duplicate products. The session
proceeded with the questions answer round among the speaker and the students.
An interaction with two of the successful women entrepreneurs-Smaranika Jena, Founder
Mindbound Creatives and Rashmi Rani Panda, Cofounder-Udiyate Technologies Pvt Ltd.
Smaranika Jena is an experienced brand & communication strategist capable of offering brand
positioning recommendations. Her ability to define the tone and elements of a brand as well as
develop marketing strategies through in-depth analysis of existing market trends and data has
enabled me to deliver outstanding branding and advertising solutions to clients from diverse
industries. She is responsible for creating animated and live-action videos for corporates and
SMBs. She is in charge of finding creative ideas to create holistic branding experience backed by
extensive research, industry knowledge and client suggestions. As an exceptional storyteller, she
focus on unearthing actionable insights and formulating as well as presenting strategies during
brand ideation sessions. She also coordinate and collaborate with the creative team at Mindbound
to create impactful and quality content that enables clients to gain instant brand recognition,
while also improving their brand’s market performance.
Rashmi Rani Panda, Cofounder-Udiyate Technologies Pvt Ltd, has completed her M.Tech and
have 13 years of teaching experience. She was highly popular among her students, but still she
always loves to remain as a student and keeps learning. At UTPL she takes cares of Algorithm
design and Coding. Apart from Herbio project, she is currently designing a web crawler and
crowd sourcing App for save people from crimes and criminals. She has also own Faculty
Excellence Word for the year 2013 from Infosys.
They both shared their experience regarding their journey as an entrepreneur. They motivated the
young minds to build on their skills and talents and be methodical, focused, and perseverant in
the field of entrepreneurship and to convert their ideas to enterprise. They also shared the
importance of correct guidance and mentorship for taking their ideas forward and creating
sustainable enterprises.
Ms. Sanjukta Badhai, COO, KIIT-TBI spoke about entrepreneurship, its role in the current day
society, and the various support schemes that are provided by incubators in general and about
KIIT-TBI in particular. She shared the different support programs that exist for ideator and early

stage innovators/ entrepreneurs at KIIT-TBI and how the interested Individuals can apply for the
same. She also spoke about the various networking platforms and support program that are being
provided by Startup India, especially for the Women Entrepreneurs. A brief outliner about the
funding support provided by the state start up cell was also given to the participants. She
provided an overview of the programs executed so far and shared some interesting
entrepreneurial journeys for the students to connect and instill the desire to translate their nascent
ideas to crystallized products.
The last session was taken by Prof. Abid Ali Khan . Prof. Abid is having both M.Sc and
PGDBM into his professional educational account. Having more than twenty years of rich
Industry experience at different management levels both in India and abroad. Worked in MNC
companies like Novartis Consumer Health Inc. & GlaxoSmithKline. Served as a Brand Manager
for Middle East countries. Looking after few international brands like Oral B, Anchor, Kraft,
Twinning Tea and Royale.
Since, last seven years he is working as a Professor (Marketing)-cum-Dean (Training) in "A"
ranked reputed B-school i.e BIITM, Bhubaneswar. He is a freelance trainer to many Indian and
foreign organizations on customized module both in India and abroad. Served as a part time
trainer at Arabian East Training Centre (AETC) at Kingdom of Bahrain.
He spoke about the sectors of market and its segmentation. He helped the participant design a
broad framework for the nascent ideas that they had so that they got hands on experience about
the process to be followed. He also told them the importance to study the target market properly
for the better creation of the idea, about where to implement their idea so that they can help the
target of that particular segment of the market for their product.
The two day session culminated with a pitching session where the participants presented their
ideas and amongst whom the top three potential women entrepreneurs were designated as
women ambassadors were selected to stay connected with the group and for the dissemination of
the value added services.
