Supporting Green Dot Teachers: The purpose of teacher supports is to advance teachers in their profession. Supports will be reflective, practical, job integrated and collaborative. They will be individualized by grade level, subject matter, and teacher’s needs. Tentative: This graphic and teacher leadership pipeline is in development and is subject to change based on focus group, advisory panel, and financial inputs

The Green Dot Teacher Leadership Pipeline:

The Teacher Leadership Development Program (TLDP)—Teacher Leader Academy is one step in developing strong teacher leaders within the Green Dot organization. The Teacher Leader Academy Program will provide specific training in instructional coaching and facilitating professional inquiry teacher groups at their school site. Training will also be provided on how to support teacher development on the College-Ready Teaching Framework, specifically in Domain 2—Learning Environment and Domain 3—Instruction through coaching and teacher collaboration as a form of professional development. (The transition to The College-Ready Teaching Framework will only take place with AMU ratification. Without ratification, TLA would support teachers in the CSTPs.)

All Teacher Leaders must abide by and exemplify the Green Dot Core Values and Norms:

Unwavering belief in all student’s potential: Kids come first Passion for excellence: Solution-oriented, striving for continuous improvement, data-driven Personal responsibility: High individual accountability, will to stay until a job is well done Respect for other and community: Collaborative, flexible, contributes positively to school culture All stakeholders critical to process: Solicits and incorporates input from all stakeholders

Master Teacher

Supporting Green Dot Teachers:The purpose of teacher supports is to advance teachers in their profession. Supports will be reflective, practical, job integrated and collaborative. They will be individualized by grade level, subject matter, and teacher’s needs. Collaboration is the foundation of teacher growth and is the responsibility of both teachers and support providers.

Teacher Leader Facilitators—QUALIFICATIONS: Teacher Leaders should have at least 4 years teaching experience (5-years recommended) Track 2 eligible Cleared CA teaching credential Strong leadership experience facilitating professional development at school site or within Green Dot Strong instructional skills and knowledge aligned to the Green Dot model Strong interest in teacher development and professional development as a means to student growth and

achievement Strong interest in collaborating with other teachers from GD schools and GD Education Team Follow and exemplify the GD Core Values and Norms Resourceful, results-oriented, team-player with a positive “can do” attitude Flexible and adaptable, open to change, learning and improvement

Teacher Leader Facilitators—RESPONSIBILITIES and COMMITTMENTS: Released one additional instructional period to complete the listed below (subject to AMU ratification of TCRP

MOU and school-site master scheduling constraints) Train, observe or coach teachers at your school site centered on the College-Ready Teaching Framework, Domain 2

—Learning Environment and Domain 3—Instruction (contingent on AMU ratification)o You and your administrator will work out an agreement for the use of the extra released period

(possibly designing New Teacher Workshops, coaching growing teachers, planning and facilitating PD). An MOU will be created and signed to establish your work commitment at your specific school site.

Attend 6 full day Teacher Leader Trainings during the summer—tentatively scheduled for July 30 and August 1 from 9am to 3:30pm

Attend monthly planning and formative evaluation session afterschool throughout the school year—scheduled for 4:30pm—7:30pm (8 sessions total)

Attend 1 end-of-the-year reflection and performance evaluation/rehire meeting Abide by all Green Dot Core Values and Norms Collaborate with Green Dot teachers and Education Team (Note: inability to fulfill these responsibilities will result in a performance review and possible exit from the Teacher Leader Program)

2. Teaching and Leadership Artifacts

Please submit the following artifacts in your application zip file. These artifacts will be used to understand your teaching style, skills and priorities as well as your leadership style and experience. Each artifact should be accompanied by an explanation. Each explanation should be no longer than 500 words.

1. Submit 1 lesson plan and explanation of how this artifact represents your teaching style, skills, or priorities.

– Special Education Teachers (RSP Teachers): If you do not have a lesson plan, you may use a lesson plan from a colleague to demonstrate how you make modifications and/or accommodations for students with special needs. Be sure that you are clear about where and why you are making modification to the lesson plan. In your explanation of this artifact describe how you would support the teacher in implementing the adapted lesson plan.

2. Submit 1 unit plan and explanation of how this artifact represents your teaching style, skills, or priorities. (The lesson and unit plan do not have to be from the same unit.)

– Special Education Teachers (RSP Teachers): If you do not have a unit plan, you may submit another artifact that represents your planning strategies, teaching priorities, etc that support students and the teachers you work with.

3. Submit 1 leadership experience—any documents your have from a leadership experience you have held at your school site. (Examples: a powerpoint used during PD, notes from a peer observation you completed, Special Education action plan/schedule for working with general ed teachers, ) Explanation for how this artifact represents your leadership style and experience and your adherence to Green Dot core values.
