In-text references
Citing author and date
Options--
Example 1: In 2007 AlMutairi reported that many people in Najd believe . . . (no parentheses are needed here, as all information is present).
Example 2: AlMutairi (2007) reported that many people in the Najd region believe . . .
Example 3: A report cited that many people in the Najd region believe . . . (AlMutairi, 2007).
What if no author is givenWhen there is no author for a web page, the title moves to the first position of the reference entry:
New child vaccine gets funding boost. (2001). Retrieved March 21, 2001, from http://news.ninemsn.com.au/health/story_13178.asp
Cite in text the first few words of the reference list entry (usually the title) and the year. Use double quotation marks around the title or abbreviated title.: ("New Child Vaccine," 2001).
Note: Use the full title of the web page if it is short for the parenthetical citation. Articles found on the web, like the example above, are not italicized in the reference entry and are not italicized but enclosed in quotations in the in-text citation, just like a newspaper or magazine article. Reports found on the web would be italicized in the reference list, as in Publication Manual (6th ed.) Examples 31, 32, and 33 on pp. 205–206. They would also be italicized in the in-text citation, just like a book.

Citing page numbers
When quoting, always include the page number (or chapter number if appropriate).
Example 1: Kong stated, “We are recorders and reporters of the facts . . .” (2014, p. 5).
Example 2: Discussing college student challenges in Xi’an, the author argues that . . . (Kong, 2014, chap. 9).

DVDs
● You need the following information (if it exists): Producer(s), Director, Year, Title of the picture, Medium (VHS, DVD, Motion picture, etc.), Location, Studio.
● In the first example, the Studio is the same as the Producer. Much like a book that has the same author and publisher (e.g., National Institutes of Health), use the name as the author, and where the publisher information goes in the citation, simply put the word Author.
● The third example is of a movie seen in the movie theater, rather than on a DVD or VHS or other format.
FITNE (Producer). (2005). Nurse theorists portraits of excellence: Florence Nightingale life and work [DVD]. United States: Producer.Chaffin, C., Kennedy, K., Marshall, F. (Producers), & Fincher, D. What is a digital object identifier, or DOI?
A digital object identifier (DOI) is a unique alphanumeric string assigned by a registration agency (the
International DOI Foundation) to identify content and provide a persistent link to its location on the
Internet. The publisher assigns a DOI when your article is published and made available electronically.
We recommend that when DOIs are available, you include them for both print and electronic sources.
The DOI is typically located on the first page of the electronic journal article, near the copyright notice.
The DOI can also be found on the database landing page for the article.
