APECS’ Online Conference, Virtual Posters, & Webinars to the World What is APECS? The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) is a multidisciplinary, international organization for undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, early faculty members, educators, and others with interests in the Polar and Alpine Regions, as well as the wider cryosphere. [email protected] www.apecs.is APECS: Bridging Divides APECS is dedicated to creating a network of early career researchers (ECRs) and professionals (ECPs) who work with the polar and alpine regions across disciplines and national boundaries to meet, share ideas and experiences, and develop new research directions and collaborations. Online tools allow ECRs, ECPs, and APECS mentors from around the world attend a range of virtual events, promoting diversity in networking and helping steer the Arctic community in positive directions. When combined with an up to date website and a range of interactive online tools such as social media platforms, events such as webinars, virtual posters, and the online conference can help to facilitate effective communicate and build capacity amongst polar researchers.
