Power Supply Unit
|
APOLLOAPOLLO
Built-in, uninterruptible power supply which maintains the power supply to the device automatically in the event of a mains failure
Operating time: at least 30 min (typically 90 min), display of remaining battery capacity in %
Material: non-leaking lead gel battery pack with 2 * 12 V 17 amp/hr (AH)
Useful life: approx. 150 hours of operation on battery power
Automatic recharging when mains power connected
Time to charge fully discharged battery pack: < = 10 hours
Two UPS batteries are fitted separately in the machine
The batteries are located behind the power supply
The Apollo performs an automatic battery test every 30 days
Backup battery power

Vaporizer Exclusion Systems
Dräger Auto Exclusion 2-VaporizerMount (Optional)This system has an automatic interlock system that ensures only one vaporizer can be used at a time. When one of the two vaporizers is selected for use (opened), the interlock mechanism within that vaporizer’s mounting system is activated automatically, preventing the other vaporizer from being used.
Note: Only vaporizers labeled as “AUTOEXCLUSION” vaporizers are compatible withthe Dräger Auto Exclusion 2-Vaporizer Mount.

Dräger Auto Exclusion 3-VaporizerMount (Optional)
Note: Only vaporizers labeled as “AUTOEXCLUSION” vaporizers are compatible withthe Dräger Auto Exclusion 3-VaporizerMount.An adapter is available to connect a SelectatecDesflurane vaporizer to the Dräger Auto Exclusion3-Vaporizer Mount.
Note: The Desflurane vaporizer must be installedin the far left position with the Dräger AutoExclusion 3-Vaporizer Mount. Do not installthe Desflurane vaporizer in the other twomounting positions.

The APL Valve
The APL valve has two functions. The adjustment knob (1) is used to selectbetween spontaneous and manual modes ofventilation. It’s labeled to indicated approximatepressure settings.
For spontaneous ventilation:Pressure is released for spontaneous ventilationwhen the adjustment knob is rotated fullycounterclockwise, when the index mark on the knoblines up with the index mark on the bottom of the APLvalve (2). Spontaneous ventilation eliminates bothresistance to patient exhalation and the need toreadjust back pressure.
Note: The APL valve is automatically excluded from the breathing circuit whenever an automatic ventilator mode is selected. It issuggested that even in automatic ventilation, the APL valve is adjusted to a pressure that is safe for the patient.

The Oxygen Flush Button
A manually operated O2 flush valve is located on the front of the machine (1 ). When actuated, the valve delivers an unmetered flow of at least 35 L/min to the breathing system and breathing bag while bypassing the ventilator. The Apollo does not have to be switched on to use the O2 flush.
• To operate the oxygen flush, push the O2+ button. Oxygen flows into the breathing System without anesthetic gas as long as the button is pushed in.

APOLLOAPOLLO
Auxiliary Oxygen Flowmeter
The auxiliary oxygen flowmeter delivers a metered flow of pure oxygen used, for example, in the delivery of oxygen through a nasal cannula. Auxiliary oxygen can be used in any ventilation mode, in Standby, or even if the machine is switched off.
OVERVIEW
Breathing Pressure Gauge
The breathing pressure gauge is used to measure the gas pressure found in the Patient’s breathing circuit.

Monitor Control Panel (MoBi)
The MoBi is a 12 inch color display usingTFT (thin film transistor) technology witha resolution of 800X600. The user and Apollo communicate via the monitor control panel (MoBi). The MoBi display presents system and patient information. It is here that the user sets the parameters and ventilation modes.

Gas Measurement
Will detect what is actually delivered to patient. Automatically calibrates when the system is turned on and then every two hours after that.
WaterLockTM water trap
Optimal positioning of the water trap at the front of the device to allow the filling level to be checked and the container to be emptied more easily
Perfect protection for precise gas measurements

APOLLOAPOLLO
Compact Absorber System
Made of high impact plastic
☺ easy to clean – corrosion free
- low weight and heat resistant
Fully detachable - easy to transport
The heated breathing system, helps to eliminate moisture in the breathing system by re-vaporizing it and returning it to breathing circuit.
Results in a more therapeutic gas for the patient.
Gas is heated to a temperature of 32-34 degrees Celsius at 100% relative humidity
OVERVIEW

APOLLOAPOLLO
Compact Absorber System Integrated pneumatic Easy to remove and easy to insert,
and electric interface no external hoses or cables
Active heating No condensation, good breathing gas humidification
Fresh gas decoupled Fresh gas does not influence VT
High degree of leak tightness Optimized for low-flow anesthesia and for a virtually closed system
Absorber volume 1.5 L or Possibility to change during Clic with bypass function operation
Integrated APL valve Fewer individual parts
System volume approx. 3.5 L
Few individual components Easier to assemble
Fixed, built-in valve discs Optimal functionality
New inspiratory/expiratory if turned downward, water will not collect connector 45° angled, between the hose and the connectorswing angle 190°
OVERVIEW

APOLLOAPOLLO
• absorber volume is only 1.5L• allows for quicker equilibrium
and stabilization of patient• saves time because changes occur more quickly

Enhanced Ventilation
During the automated self-check performed at the beginning of the case, the piston pushes a known volume of gas into an occluded system. At this time it calculates both the compliance of the breathing system and the leakage of the breathing system.
Leakage's above 150 mL are not accepted by the device during self test.

Respiratory Volume Monitoring
• Respiratory volume is measured by the flow sensors.
• The output from the two flow sensors is converted into readings for:
minute volumetidal volumerespiratory rate
