Facility-Big Hill, Texas;- Bryan Mound, Texas;- Big Hill site, Texas;- West Hackberry, Louisiana; and- Bayou Choctaw, Louisiana.
AECOM’s services focus on SPR’s Life Extension Program, whichextends the life of DOE’s crude oil storage facilities to the year 2025.
- General architectural/engineering services including the design andinspection services required for the construction of modifications, additionsand expansion to the SPR facilities and connecting pipelines.
- An additional benefit of the Life Extension Program is to simplify andstandardize the configuration and operation of the various SPR crude oilstorage sites.
- This greatly reduces maintenance and operating costs over the life ofthe facilities.
- AECOM provided engineering design services which included:- 40 miles of 36-inch crude oil pipelines- 22 miles of 48-inch brine disposal pipelines (from site to Gulf of Mexico)- 6 miles of 36-inch raw water pipelines- Pump stations: 1500 Hp turbine pumps in series with 3500 HP pumps
