Lena: Attached is USFWS no action response for station 51.  They are okay with the project but they provided guidance if we come across a void.  Mario  Mario Mata, Jr.  Environmental Services Coordinator  City of San Antonio  Capital Improvements Management Services  Environmental Management Division  111 Soledad, Suite 675  San Antonio, TX 78205  210‐207‐1442  Mario.MataJR@sanantonio.gov   ‐‐‐‐‐Original Message‐‐‐‐‐ From: Luela_Roberts@fws.gov [mailto:Luela_Roberts@fws.gov] Sent: Monday, June 21, 2010 3:37 PM To: Mario Mata (CIMS) Cc: Allison_Arnold@fws.gov; John Cantu; cyndee_watson@fws.gov Subject: RE: Fire Station 51 Site Visit  Mario, We have reviewed your project and don't have any issues with it.  Please find attached a pdf of the first page of your project description with a notice that we will not be taking any action.  However, it is very important that you understand the standard procedures for working in an area where you may encounter karst features with listed karst invertebrates in them.   If a void or karst feature is discovered during construction, the feature should immediately be covered with a tarp, sandbags, or other waterproof material (except metal of any kind) to minimize desiccation and temperature fluctuations due to exposure.  All construction shall cease at a minimum distance of 345 feet of the karst opening and this distance may need to increase should site specific information suggest greater distances are needed to avoid de‐stabilizing the area, causing a collapse, or causing any other unsafe conditions.  Immediately upon uncovering a karst feature it should be assessed for its potential to contain suitable karst invertebrate habitat following the USFWS Survey Requirements for
