Description: A conglomeration of springs, pulleys, wires and cut-out

steel forms play with tension as an expressive force and attempt to deny

the three-dimensional quality of sculpture. Its blending of figurative and

abstract forms makes it almost an animate object (Hedger, 1995: 112).

upon a bier. The figures have been carved from a single basalt block and
