Quick stats• Official: launching "early next year"

• Not official: not launching until Spring 2015 (so we have 2-4 months to develop the app)

• Apple plans to ship as many as 80 million iPhone 6s by the end of 2014 (DigiTimes) (about 50% of market has 2 and more years old iPhones now)

• Apple Watch compatibility goes back to iPhone 5 so its 200 million devices market + new sales iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus

• 2015 year ~20 million Apple watch to be shipped. It’s about 40% of all Smartwatch market with grow at a compound annual rate of 30% (by 2019)

• 1 in 20 iPhone users owning an Apple Watch by the end of 2015

• Watch are made basically for large screen owners (of course, not only for them)

• Facebook (Users can scroll through news feeds with the digital crown)

• Twitter (allows users to see tweets in addition to a full background image. Able to favorite, retweet and dismiss the 140-character messages)

• City Mapper (remind Apple Watch wearers to get off when they have reached their stops, using location information from the iPhone’s GPS)

• BMW (how much charge is left in their electric vehicles, and can also help navigate them to their car)

• Honeywell (change home’s temperature)

• Lutron (heir home’s lights)

• Nike (challenge friends to a race, and see how far they have traveled)

• American Airlines (check-in to flights. It also lets them collect their bags. Boarding time)

• Starwood Hotels (unlock hotel room door by waiving Watch in front of it)

• Major League Baseball (real-time scores)

• Pinterest (remind you when you’re near a “pinned” site, and also give walking directions to it)
