Flobd Control Project, the United States Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) is performing a wetl·ands res tora tiol'l project on 8.19 acres within a former bed of the $anta Ana Rive~ ~nown as the Oxbow Loop.

The· ~~jority of the project is within the l~-~-.1-slative grant to the City of Newport ~~ach. The State. as a ·result of a title settlement agreement, retained ownership of the portion of the former bed lying outside the current city limits. This ownership is comprised of several parcels which total less than one acre within the 6. 19-acre project area.

The City of Newport Bea9~il has granted permission to the Corp~ for the wetlands restoration project for. that portion of Oxbow Loop within the ~egislative grant limits.
