ABOUT THE AB The Women’s Volunteer Administration Committee, orga- nized in 1956, was the forerunner of the Women’s Auxiliary Board (WAB). This dedicated group of women volunteers, worked very hard to prepare Stan Hywet for the opening of the Estate on June 15, 1957 —making it possible for the public to tour the Manor House and 70 acres of gardens and grounds. It was also an opportunity to honor the Seiberlings and their motto of Non Nobis Solum (Not for Us Alone). Reorganized in 1964 as the Women’s Auxiliary Board, the WAB has raised over $5 million for the continued restoration and upkeep of the Estate. The padded chairs in the Manor House Auditorium, the furniture in the Wolle Building Board Room, and the appraisal of the historic collection are but a few of the projects that this important volunteer group has funded. In addition to fundraising, the AB members have contributed hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours to Stan Hywet. In 2013, a new chapter began when the WAB was renamed the Auxiliary Board (AB) of Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. The AB continues in the tradition of its forebears as a vital support organization of the Estate. Auxiliary Board’s Ohio Mart

Ohio Mart is the cornerstone and signature fundraising event of the Auxiliary Board of Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. Since 1966, this event was featured distinguished artisans and retailers with the proceeds going to support the estate. First known as Manor Mart, Ohio Mart is now a four-day juried invitational show of fine arts and crafts taking place annually during the first full weekend in October. In its first 50 years, Ohio Mart has raised over $5 million for the preservation Stan Hywet.

Auxiliary Board members form the Ohio Mart Steering Committee and carry out the many organizational tasks to ensure a successful event. As such, Ohio Mart is the primary volunteer focus of the Auxiliary Board.
