*According to ISBE, “An ESL or bilingual endorsement enables an individual to provide ESL or bilingual instruction in his or her areas of endorsement on the professional educator license”. Dual Credit Certification in Math, Geology, Psychology, History, and Agriculture Science. Allows an educator who already holds an Illinois Professional Teaching License to complete additional required course work that will allow them to teach dual credit courses in the specified content area.to eligible high school students.

Application Checklist
Process for earning an ESL/Bilingual Endorsement and/or Dual Credit Certification through SIU:
¨ Visit http://gradschool.siu.edu/apply/ to create an account and apply as an undeclared graduate student.
¨ Pay the application fee (you will be reimbursed once you submit this form and we verify that you are in approved courses).
¨ Follow the instructions to create your SIU Dawgtag number (Ex: SIU85XXXXXXX)
¨ Register for summer courses for the endorsement or certification that you intend to pursue. (view approved courses at http://ehs.siu.edu/academics/ell-dual/)
¨ Complete the application for ESL/Bilingual endorsement and/or Dual Credit Certification
¨ Email the completed application to [email protected], ATTN: Dr. Crystal Shelby-Caffey with subject line: APPLICATION
¨ Successfully complete all necessary coursework and additional requirements as specified by ISBE or IBHE
¨ Apply for the endorsement or certification through ISBE.
