application for a Wastewater Works Design Approval. For all WMS, Sections 1 to 7 must be completed. For systems utilising effluent recycling including third party end use, Section 8 must

also be completed. For dry composting/wet composting/hybrid toilets, Section 9 must also be completed.

6. Site and soil evaluationFor WMS that dispose of treated wastewater to a land application area, a thorough site and soil evaluation must be undertaken and evidence of this provided with the application. DoH recognises two approaches towards this:

Site and soil evaluation in accordance with AS/NZS 1547:2012; or Land Capability Assessment (LCA) in accordance with DoH Guidelines for Land

Capability Assessment for On-site Wastewater Management.
