Thank you for your interest in the Full Time, Teacher Positions within our teams, commencing in Term 1, 2021. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly experienced teaching team and to continue to develop innovative learning. Our school motto Tu Tangata, stand tall, is highly evident in our curriculum design and approaches towards teaching and learning. The job description for this position is based on the Code of Professional Responsibility for teachers, as stated in the NZEI Primary Teachers Collective Agreement. Please carefully read the Information for applicants, as this will provide you with information about the skills and attributes we are looking for, in the person we wish to appoint. A Code of Conduct for Hukanui School is also attached to this document. As Hukanui continues to evolve and develop modern, responsive pedagogical approaches, we require an dedicated, fun loving teacher who is prepared to work with our learners, teachers and community to continue to develop Hukanui School as a future focused environment to learn and thrive within. We wish to appoint someone who is collaborative, passionate about teaching and learning, has strong pedagogical understandings, relationship skills, is innovative, passionate and has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure the children at Hukanui School can confidently manage the challenges of the 21st century. Our school has a strong commitment towards Tainui Tikanga, Digital Literacy, Inquiry and Cultural Inclusion.

The school roll is currently 815 students and is growing steadily, hence these new positions advertised. The school is Decile 10 and a very multicultural community, with over 40 countries represented. Approximately 25% of our students are learning English as a second language.
