Education takes place throughout life in

many forms, none of which ought to be

exclusive. We must start to think about

education in a more all-encompassing

fashion. Without all the four pillars education

would not be the same.

What are the four pillars of education?

Learning to know

•Learning to know implies learning how to learn by developing one's concentration, memory skills and ability to think.

Learning to do

•How do we adapt education so that it can equip people to do the types of work needed in the future?

Learning to live together

•One of education's tasks is both to teach students about human diversity and to instill in them an awareness of the similarities and interdependence of all people.

Learning to be

•The complete fulfillment of man, in all the richness of his personality, the complexity of his forms of expression and his various commitments - as individual, member of a family and of a community, citizen and producer, inventor of techniques and creative dreamer.

Life Skills and Current Programs

To respond to this necessity and based on what the

PND and the PROSEDU have established, the Plan de

Estudios 2009. Educación Básica. Primaria is now

considering a curricular space for the teaching of

English in primary education. Since English is included

in the Language and Communication formative field,

it incorporates to the basic education curricular map,

under the denomination of Asignatura Estatal.

Lengua Adicional: Inglés. Thereby it assures its

consistency with the subject of Spanish, and its

articulation with preschool, primary, and secondary

education.

Learning to live as part of society

Do you…

close the tab while you are brushing your teeth?

let older people sit in public transportation?

litter on the streets?

turn off the lights when you leave the rooms?

smoke in restricted areas?

respect the traffic signals?

promote the above with your students?
