What is an Apprenticeship?An Apprenticeship is a work-based learning programme designed by employers for employers. Business Administration Apprenticeship

Framework Level: 2 Course Duration: 13 months Standard Level: 3 Course Duration: 18 months

Who is it for?Those who wish to start a career within business industry or existing employees wanting to progress their CPD to meet the demands of the business.

Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. Business admin role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services.

What does the course cover?This Apprenticeship is designed for business administrators to develop key knowledge, skills and behaviours to support progression towards management responsibilities. Core business skills will be developed including communicating effectively with customers and colleagues, filing, responding to emails and working with Excel spreadsheets. Business Administration Apprenticeship

Framework Level: 4 Course Duration: 24 months

Who is it for?Those who wish to start a career within business industry or existing employees wanting to progress their CPD to meet the demands of the business.

Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. Business admin role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services within various departments.

What does the course cover?This Apprenticeship is broadly equivalent to the first year of a degree and is designed for business administrators to further develop key knowledge, skills and behaviours to support progression towards management responsibilities. The course provides holistic view of whole organisation processes and strategic development. Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship - Standard

Course Level: 2 Course Duration: 12 months

Who is it for?Those who wish to start a career within customer service or existing employees wanting to progress their CPD to meet the demands of the business.

The role of a Customer Service Practitioner Apprentice is to deliver high quality products and services to the customers of their organisation. Core responsibility will be to provide a high quality service to customers which will be delivered from the workplace, digitally, or through going out into the customer’s own locality. These may be one–off or routine contacts and include dealing with orders, payments, offering advice, guidance and support, meet–and–greet, sales, fixing problems, after care, service recovery or gaining insight through measuring customer satisfaction. The Software Development Technician will also be engaged in testing that the specific component meets its intended functionality. What does the course cover?This Apprenticeship covers the skills, knowledge and behaviours required in the customer service industry, including: • Customer service principles and practices - including customer experience and feedback,

internal and external customers, needs and priorities, targets and goals and right first time• Business principles and practices - including brand

promise, core values, complaints process, internal policies and legislation and regulatory requirements

• Customer service skills - including building rapport and trust, conflict management and influencing and reinforcement techniques

• Communications - including interpersonal, tone of voice and verbal and non-verbal communications

• Presentation - including dressing appropriately and using positive and confident language

• Using customer service tools and resources - including those used to meet customer needs and measure, monitor and evaluate customer service levels

Who is it for?Those who wish to start a career within the Human Resources or existing employees wanting to progress their CPD to meet the demands of the business.

A HR Support Apprentice will be working in a business environment handling day to day queries and providing HR advice ranging from recruitment through to retirement. HR support roles can vary between organisations depending on the size of the HR department. Tasks may include advertising job roles, processing applications, updating employee records and updating employee policies and documents.

What does the course cover?On the course your Apprentice will cover the skills, knowledge and behaviour required from the industry including:• How to provide solutions, advice and support• How to establish HR related problems in order to provide solutions• To develop interpersonal skills to communication through a range of media deal with customers

and colleagues• Handling conflicts and sensitive HR situations professionally and confidentially• Consistently supports colleagues /collaborates within

the team and HR to achieve results• Identifying opportunities to improve HR performance

and service; acts on them within the authority of their role

• Supporting the implementation of HR changes/projects• Maintaining HR records• Preparing reports and management information from

Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship - Standard

Course Level: 3 Course Duration: 12 months

Who is it for?Those who wish to start a career within management or existing employees wanting to progress their CPD to meet the demands of the business.

A team leader/supervisor is a first line management role, with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. Team leaders will provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role.

What does the course cover?On the course your Apprentice will cover the skills, knowledge and behaviour required for the industry:• Team management principles - including team dynamics, motivation and managing resources

and workloads• Leadership techniques - including coaching, decision making, role modelling and managing

change• Performance management - including absence management, conducting appraisals, setting

goals and objectives• Relationship management - including negotiation

Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship - Standard

Course Level: 3 Course Duration: 12 months

Who is it for?Those who wish to start a career within the IT industry or existing employees wanting to progress their CPD to meet the demands of the business.

An Apprentice Infrastructure Technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their own jobs, by using tools toproblem solve and trouble shoot non routine problems. The Apprentice Infrastructure Technician sets people up on systems and provides support when they need it, rectifying issues to maintain the organisations.

What does the course cover?Infrastructure Technician Apprentices covers the skills, knowledge and behaviour required for the IT Industry. Software Development Technician Apprenticeship - Standards

Course Level: 3 Course Duration: 18 months

Who is it for?Those who wish to start a career within software development industry or existing employees wanting to progress their CPD to meet the demands of the business.

A Software Development Technician typically works as part of a software development team, to builds simple software components (whether web, mobile or desktop applications) to be used by other members of the team as part of larger software development projects. Apprentices will interpret simple design requirements for discrete components of the project under supervision. The approach will typically include implementing code, which other team members have developed, to produce the required component.

What does the course cover?The course covers the skills, knowledge and behavior along with the technical competencies required for the industry. Software Development Technicians covers all aspects of software installation, maintenance, trouble shooting, testing and customer care including:• Writing simple codes for discrete software components• Principles of good user interface design• Solving logical problems• Applying industry standard approaches for configuration

management and version control to manage code during build and release

• Using basic analysis models such as using cases and process maps

• Unit testing• Responding to the business environment and business

issues related to software development• Operates appropriately in their own business’s, their
