Thank you for purchasing a Land Rover Used Vehicle from your authorisedLand Rover dealer.

The Land Rover Approved Programme has been designed to ensure that youreceive the same level of quality, service and customer satisfaction that youwould receive when buying a new vehicle.

The Land Rover Approved Warranty is exclusively for vehicles that havecovered less than 100,000 miles at the time of purchase and is onlyavailable through an authorised Land Rover dealer.

This warranty is not an insurance product but a guarantee provided via yourdealer and administered by Land Rover Approved Warranty.

The following pages set out the details of the warranty cover, the terms andconditions and what to do in the event of a breakdown or accident.

IMPORTANTThe cover provided and duration of cover apply only to the vehicle describedin the Registration Confirmation Letter that will have been sent byLand Rover Approved Warranty Administration and accompaniesthis handbook.

It makes sense to keep this handbook in your vehicle, as you will need to showit to your dealer if you have to make a claim.

We hope that this handbook is easy to understand and explains clearly all thebenefits of your Warranty.

At Land Rover Approved Warranty Administration we aim to make the claimsprocedure as simple as possible.

Repairs in the UKShould it be necessary to make a claim under the terms of this Warranty,simply return your vehicle to your supplying Land Rover dealer or any otherLand Rover dealer. They will confirm whether the claim and your Warranty arevalid and will administer the claim on your behalf.

In the event of you being unable to attend a Land Rover dealer, please contactthe Administrator’s claims department on 0844 573 8055 for approval beforeany repair takes place. (Your repairer may undertake this for you.)

On receipt of the invoice, the claim will be settled subject to the terms andconditions of this Warranty having been adhered to. If a balance is due, this isto be paid directly to the repairer by the customer.

Repairs in EuropeIf it is necessary for repairs on your vehicle to be completed in Europe you willnot require authorisation from us.

If you need to contact Land Rover Approved Warranty Administration whileyou are abroad, please telephone 0044 1274 260155.

In the event that the fault is covered by this Warranty and if your claim is validwe will reimburse the cost of repair following your return to the UK.

We will, following receipt of the repair invoice, reimburse the cost in poundssterling at the prevailing rate of exchange on the date the repairwas completed.

The maximum we will pay is the equivalent UK rate for labour charges andmanufacturer’s list prices for parts at the date of your repair.

Your Land Rover Approved Warranty covers mechanical or electrical failuredefects to all factory fitted components of the vehicle, and certainconsequential failures as outlined below.

Mechanical or Electrical FailureMechanical or electrical failure is the sudden and unexpected failure of acomponent which is covered by the warranty and which requires immediaterepair or replacement. Wear and tear or normal deterioration is not coveredunder the definition of mechanical or electrical failure.

Consequential FailureShould a mechanical or electrical component (covered under the terms of thiswarranty) fail and as a consequence cause failure to a factory fitted mechanicalor electrical component on the vehicle which is not normally covered underthe terms of this warranty, we will pay the costs of repair or replacement ofsuch components at UK warranty rates for labour and parts.

Under the terms of this clause, we will not pay for consequential failure ordamage to glass, paintwork, bodywork, trim, upholstery, cosmetic finishes,wheels, tyres, accessories and strikers and hinges.

What your Approved Warranty Does Not Cover– Bodywork, body seals, cosmetic finishes, glass, paintwork, trim, upholstery

or weather strips.

– Batteries.

– Bulbs and fuses.

– Deterioration such as discolouration, alteration or deforming of parts dueto normal ageing.

– Electrical software updates or reprogramming*.

– Exhaust systems including diesel particulate filters*.

– Faults resulting from the use of contaminated fuel or inappropriate fuel forthe vehicle.

– Gradual reduction in operating performance (wear and tear) consistent withthe age and mileage of the vehicle. Components that may be subject towear include, but are not limited to, brake discs, drums and frictionalmaterials, suspension and steering components, clutch pressure plates,bearings and frictional material.

– Hinges and strikers.

– Loss, damage or failure, which is said by a qualified engineer appointedby the Administrator to have existed before the start of this Warranty.The supplying dealer must rectify any such pre-existing faults before thisWarranty starts.

– Parts which have not suffered a mechanical or electrical failure but whichare replaced or reported during routine servicing, or repair of othernon-covered parts that have failed.

– Recharging of air conditioning unit*.

– Repairs, replacement or alterations not authorised by the Administrator.

– Routine component adjustment and alignment.

– Service/maintenance operations and adjustments, and the replacement ofsuch items as, but not limited to, spark plugs, plug leads, oils, filters,lubricants, factory fitted accessories and non-factory fitted components.

– Wheels, tyres and valves.

– Wheel balancing/alignment and adjustment*.

* Unless part of a valid claim, or required due to the failure of a covered partcausing consequential damage.

– Any component failure, damage or losses

– to components not directly covered under the terms and conditions ofthis warranty.

– which occur while the vehicle is outside the geographical territoriesdetailed in this booklet.

– caused by frost, including damage where a lack or failure of anti-freezehas been a contributory factor.

– resulting from any act or omission that is negligent or against the law,accident damage, misuse, neglect, overloading or abnormal use.

– which occurred as a result of any accessory being fitted (unless theaccessory is approved by the manufacturer for use on the vehicle andfitted according to instructions provided by the manufacturer ofthe accessory).

– as a result of water ingress e.g. through damaged or ineffective door,window or roof seals, through doors or sunroofs left open, or caused byflood water.

– where the speedometer has been interfered with, altered, disconnectedor does not work.

– which have resulted from a failure to arrange for an obvious fault tobe rectified.

– liability for death, bodily injury or damage to other property or any losscaused directly or indirectly by the claim or event which gives rise toclaim under this Warranty.

– caused directly or indirectly by war, riot, revolution or any similar eventor by vandalism, theft or attempted theft from the vehicle.

Vehicles and Vehicle Uses your Approved WarrantyDoes Not Cover– Non UK registered left hand drive and Grey Import vehicles.

– Any public service vehicles such as police, fire vehicles, ambulances andmilitary vehicles.

– Any vehicle used for hire or reward such as taxis or driving school vehicles.

– Any vehicle with an unladen weight of more than 3.5 tonne GVW.

– Any vehicle used in any sort of competition, track days, rally or racing.

Maximum Claim LimitThe Company will pay both parts and warranty labour cost up to a sumequivalent to the purchase price of the vehicle:

– Any individual claim up to the purchase price of the vehicle.

–– The sum of all claims made shall not exceed the purchase price ofthe vehicle.

Car HireIf you have a valid claim, you may claim reimbursement for car hire, but notincluding fuel and insurance. You are responsible for the first 24 hours that youcannot use your own vehicle. After this period, you can claim for areplacement vehicle for up to seven days.

You or your Land Rover dealer must obtain telephone approval from theAdministrator before you use this service.

Any replacement vehicle must be from a bona fide hire company orLand Rover dealer.

Overseas CoverThis Warranty will cover your vehicle while it is outside the United Kingdom inEurope for up to 60 days during the period of warranty:

If your vehicle has a breakdown in any country, which is a member of theEuropean Union or EFTA (European Free Trade Association), you will beentitled to authorise a repair by any Land Rover dealer. You will be required topay the full cost of repair on completion and should submit a claim forreimbursement to us upon your return to the UK.

Before authorising any such repair please see details in the section ‘How toMake a Claim’.

Servicing RequirementsIt is a condition of this Warranty that your vehicle is serviced in accordancewith the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Throughout the warranty period a franchised Land Rover dealer or a VATregistered garage should carry out all servicing and repair work.

Services must be carried out within 1,000 miles/one month of theintervals specified by the vehicle manufacturer, whichever comes first.

Warranty ExtensionsExtensions to this Warranty are available subject to your vehicle meeting theage and mileage criteria of the Warranty.

Please ask your Land Rover dealer before this Warranty is due to end and theywill handle your request.

Warranty TransferIf you sell your vehicle privately you can transfer the benefits of this Warrantyto the subsequent owner or user of the vehicle. Please complete the form atthe back of the booklet and post to Land Rover Approved WarrantyAdministration.

To help you understand this Warranty, the conditions are set out below.

Please take time to read them.

1. Warranty Holder The Warranty Holder is the only person who is entitledto make a claim under this Warranty.

2. Vehicle Any claim under this Warranty must relate to the vehicledescribed in the Registration Confirmation Letter.

3. Warranty Period The warranty period appears on the RegistrationConfirmation Letter that accompanies this handbook.

The warranty will expire on the date or mileage shown in this letter,whichever occurs first.

It should be noted that in the absence, for whatever reason, of thestandard manufacturer's warranty period, the start date and expiry date ofthis warranty will remain unchanged from that detailed in the RegistrationConfirmation Letter. Additionally, if the warranty starts earlier than thedate detailed in the Confirmation letter, because of the manufacturer’swarranty has expired earlier on mileage, then the expiry date of thiswarranty shall be earlier and reflect the period of warrantypurchased/provided.

4. Authorisation No repairs are to be commenced until authorised by ourAdministrator, unless covered by the continental cover, which may beauthorised by the Warranty Holder.

5. Payment for Repairs When a franchised Land Rover dealer undertakes arepair, they will obtain prior authorisation from our Administrator and willinvoice us the cost of the repair. In certain circumstances, ourAdministrator may authorise a repair by another dealer in the UK or youmay authorise a repair overseas. In either event, you will be required topay the dealer on completion of work and may then reclaim the costfrom us.

6. List Prices This Warranty does not cover costs that are more than themanufacturer’s UK warranty prices for parts and labour costs that arenecessary to repair any failed parts.

7. Invoices to Support Claims With every claim you make you mustprovide a VAT receipt from a Land Rover authorised repairer or otherVAT registered repairer. All invoices should be made payable toJaguar Land Rover Ltd.

8. Inspection of Vehicle and Parts Land Rover Approved WarrantyAdministration reserve the right to inspect the vehicle before authorisingrepairs and may also arrange for parts to be examined by a claimsassessor. You may be asked to ensure that a faulty part is retained for ourinspection following a repair.

9. Repair/Replacement of Parts Land Rover Approved WarrantyAdministration's obligations under this Warranty are limited to repairingor replacing at its option any part(s) which prove to be defective. Whenreplacing any defective parts genuine Land Rover parts must be used.

10. Dismantling the Vehicle It is your responsibility to authorise thedismantling of your vehicle. The Company will only pay for dismantling ifit is part of a valid claim.

11. Design Faults and Recalls Any damage to parts, which are being recalledby the vehicle’s manufacturer or which have inherent design faults are notcovered by this Warranty.

12. Servicing and Service Records If you do not follow the manufacturer’sservice schedules, this Warranty may not apply. When you have yourvehicle serviced, you are allowed 1,000 miles either side of the servicemileage or one month either side of the time period, whichever isthe sooner.

A Land Rover dealer or a VAT registered garage should carry out theservicing, and receipts retained as Land Rover Approved WarrantyAdministration are entitled to check the service record in the event ofa claim.

13. Modification to Vehicle – If the vehicle has been modified in any way youmust declare this prior to acceptance of the Warranty.

This Warranty is designed to cover vehicles built to the manufacturer’soriginal specification. If your vehicle has been modified with anynon-manufacturer supplied parts that are associated to the items coveredby the Warranty, we reserve the right to decline any claim that may occurdue to the failure of a modified part.

Any vehicle fitted with wheels and tyres that exceed Land Rover maximumapproved size and diameter must be declared prior to application for thewarranty as fitment of such wheels and tyres could invalidate the warranty.

14. False Claims If you make a false claim, this Warranty will be cancelled andyou will forfeit all benefits. No refund will be paid in such circumstances.

15. Other Warranties and Insurance If your claim is also covered by anyother Warranty, the Company will only pay its share of the claim.

16. Legal Proceedings Following the acceptance of any claim under thiscover, we will have the right to conduct legal proceedings or enter intoformal arbitration on your behalf. In doing so, the company and/or theirinsurers will be entitled to take action in your name. The cost of the actionwill be our responsibility, unless you have agreed in writing to analternative arrangement. We will be entitled to any compensation and/orindemnity benefit obtained through these proceedings, to the extent thatthese relate to costs or potential liabilities covered by the warranty. Wewill also be entitled to the costs of this action, if they are assigned to you.

17. Invoices All invoices for repairs should be made out toJaguar Land Rover Ltd c/o Land Rover Approved Warranty Administration.

18. Administrator Land Rover Approved Warranty Administration isauthorised by Jaguar Land Rover Limited to act as their agents in relationto this Warranty. They manage and administer all Land Rover ApprovedWarranty Services.

19. Cancellation Rights You have the right to cancel this warranty within14 days of receiving this booklet and Registration Confirmation Letter.Should you wish to cancel within this period please contact yoursupplying dealer who will arrange cancellation and a full refund.

20. Refunds Unless cancelled in accordance with the cancellation rightsdetailed above, in normal circumstances no refund will be made. Underno circumstances will a refund be given if a claim has been paid.

21. Vehicle Ownership The vehicle will not be covered by this Warranty whilstit is owned by a motor trader or garage or associated companies or bythe proprietor(s) of such motor trader or garage.

22. Governing Law and Jurisdiction This contract shall be governed by andconstrued in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any and alldisputes arising in relation to this contract shall be submitted to theexclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

23. Statutory Rights Nothing in these conditions will reduce your statutoryrights relating to faulty or mis-described goods. For further informationabout your statutory rights contact your local Trading StandardsDepartment or Citizens Advice Bureau.

24. Territorial Limits Cover under this Land Rover Approved Warranty andMOT Test Warranty may only be granted to individuals residing, orcorporate bodies registered, in the United Kingdom.

Registration Confirmation LetterThis is the confirmation that the warranty application has been accepted.

When you receive the Registration Confirmation Letter, please check that itcontains the correct details.

Land Rover MOT Test Warranty covers the cost of repair, replacement and/oradjustment to the vehicle of the specified parts listed below which are coveredas a direct consequence of such parts being cited in a ‘notification of refusal toissue an MOT certificate’ (form VT30), prepared during the period of cover, ascausing the vehicle to fail its MOT test. Accidental damage is not coveredunder this MOT Test Warranty.

This Land Rover MOT Test Warranty only applies provided that the MOT Testfalls due and is completed during the period of cover provided by the Warrantypackage. Only one Land Rover MOT Test Warranty claim is permissible duringthe duration of the Land Rover Approved Warranty Package.

Lamps, Reflectors and Electrical EquipmentLamps including Xenon, High Intensity Discharge (HID), Light Emitting Diodes(LED), reflectors, indicators, bulbs, headlamp levelling and cleaning devices(when fitted for HID or LED headlamps) and Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems(TPMS) are covered for failure due to: Breakage, discolouration, electricalfailure, misalignment, water ingress, and corrosion. Failure of the horn. Batteryretaining bracket/stay/support for failure due to insecurity (please note thebattery is not a covered item). Switches, instrument panel, warning lights andwiring are specifically excluded.

Steering and SuspensionManual and power steering units, operation of steering lock (where fitted),drag links, track rods/ends, transmission shafts, Constant Velocity (CV) jointsand boots, shock absorbers, road springs, wishbones, anti-roll bar links, swiveljoints, mountings and bushes, sub frames and wheel bearings are covered forfailure due to: Wear, seizure, leakage, and insecurity. Steering wheel for cracksor fractures.

BrakesBrake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, calipers, discs, drums, electronicparking brake control, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) components, loadcompensator, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), modulator/sensors/computersand brake pipes, hoses, cables are covered for failure due to wear, leakage,seizure, splits/cracks, corrosion, adjustment and electrical failure. Brakefrictional material is excluded.

Seat Belts and Supplementary Restraint System (SRS)Mountings, belts, retractors and buckles, SRS components including airbags,seat belt pre-tensioners and seat belt limiters are covered for failure due towear, non-function and insecurity.

Body, Structure and General ItemsVehicle structure is covered for corrosion. Failure due to accident damage isspecifically excluded. Engine mountings for excessive movement/insecure/fractured or damaged.

Fuel and EmissionsThrottle body, airflow meter, lambda sensor, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR)valve, catalytic convertor, fuel injection Electronic Control Unit (ECU) andDiesel Particulate Filter (DPF) sensors are covered for failure to meet MOTexhaust gas emission standards (warning lights, tuning and adjustments or anydamage caused by contaminated fuel and/or inappropriate fuel are notcovered under this section). Fuel leaks are not covered.

Drivers View of the RoadWindscreen wiper arms and blades, windscreen wiper motors, washer motors.

Unless listed above, all other components are specifically excluded fromthe cover provided by this MOT Test Warranty.

Maximum Claim LiabilityWhere liability for the cost of repairs is admitted under this MOT TestWarranty the Warranty Holder will be reimbursed repair costs up to amaximum aggregate of £750.00 (including VAT) during each period of MOTTest Warranty. The first £50.00 of any claim must be paid by theWarranty Holder.

This MOT Test Warranty does Not Cover:– The MOT test and re-test fee – Pre- MOT repairs and faults noted as

“Advisory” which do not fail the MOT Test.

– Any repairs, replacements or alterations not authorised by theAdministrator.

– Accidental or malicious damage or neglect.

– Any parts which have not actually failed, which are replaced or reportedduring routine servicing and/or repair of other parts which have failed.

– Actual tuning and adjustments to the fuel system.

– Any component covered by any other existing warranties or insurances.

– Any loss to the Warranty Holder in excess of the maximum claim liability.

– Liability that would not have attached to the Company under anyagreement or contract had that contract or agreement not been in force.

– Any liability for death, bodily injury, or damage to other property or anyconsequential loss of whatsoever nature arising directly or indirectly fromthe claim or event giving rise to a claim under this MOT Test Warranty.

Simply take your vehicle to the nearest Land Rover dealer and hand over:

1 This MOT Test Warranty booklet and your Registration Confirmation Letter.

2. Proof of servicing.

3. The previous valid MOT Certificate (if applicable) and the notification ofrefusal to issue an MOT Certificate (VT30) citing the reasons for failure.

The dealer will then take responsibility for establishing that the parts involvedin the repair, deemed necessary by the ‘notification of refusal to issue an MOTCertificate’ (VT30), are covered by this MOT Test Warranty.

The dealer will be responsible for obtaining prior authorisation from theLand Rover Approved Claims Department.

Important: No repair should commence until the Land Rover Approved ClaimsDepartment gives authorisation. When, and if, the vehicle is granted an MOTCertificate (VT20) the dealer will forward a copy of a completed:

– Repair invoice.

– Old MOT Certificate and the ‘notification of refusal to issue an MOTCertificate’ (VT30).

All invoices should be made payable to Jaguar Land Rover Ltd, MOT TestWarranty claim invoices and associated correspondence should be sent to:Land Rover Approved Warranty AdministrationClaims DepartmentJubilee House, 5 Mid Point Business ParkThornbury, West Yorkshire BD3 7AG.

The Land Rover Approved Claims Department reserves the right to examineany vehicle and subject the parts being repaired to expert assessment beforecommencement of any repairs. It shall be clearly understood and agreed thatin the event of any dispute arising as to the extent of the liability, the decisionof the assessor shall be final and binding on the Administrator and the MOTTest Warranty holder.

Note: Claims must be notified to and invoices received by Land RoverApproved Claims Department within 30 days of the date of completion of therepairs, otherwise they cannot be accepted. Claims notified or invoicesreceived beyond this period will be subject to review in terms of the reason fordelay and it will be at the Administrator’s discretion to accept such claims.

The Terms and Conditions of this MOT Test Warranty are stated below. TheMOT Test Warranty is in addition to your legal rights and does not affect yourstatutory rights as a consumer.

– Any exploratory dismantling charges will only be reimbursed as part of avalid claim. It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to authorisedismantling and to pay charges if such dismantling proves that the failure isnot covered by the MOT Test Warranty. The Administrator reserves theright to subject the failed parts to expert assessment.

– The administrator reserves the right to subject the failed parts toexpert assessment.

– If any claim is fraudulent in any respect all benefits under this MOT TestWarranty will be forfeited and the warranty may be cancelledwithout refund.

– The reimbursement for any claim under this MOT Test Warranty shall notexceed the manufacturer’s list prices for parts and warranty labour costsnecessarily incurred in the repair of covered components up to themaximum claim liability.

– The Administrator shall not be liable for any statement or representation,written or verbal (by whomsoever made), which contradicts the Terms andConditions in this MOT Test Warranty, unless such statement orrepresentation is supported in writing by the Company on their behalf.

– A VAT receipted invoice from your Land Rover dealer must supportall claims.
