2 SUPERSTRUCTURE
2D Stairs and RampsThis has been calculated to account for 5 ramps – 2 leading up to the landing at door 1 and 2 marked on appendix 2 and 1 leading up to door 3.
LandingVolume = lbh = 1.800 x 1.800 x 0.155 = 0.502
Sloped RampVolume = (lbh)*2 = (1.800 x 2.000 x 0.155) = 0.558/2 = 0.279
Total Volume of Concrete Required= (3 x 0.502) + (5 x 0.279)= 2.901
Balustrading and HandrailsThis has been calculated to have a handrail at each side of the ramp and at the exposed edge of the landing.
(5 x 2) x 2 = 203 x 1.8 = 5.4
Total Hand-railing Required= 25.4
2E External WallsOn surveying, we noticed 0.72mm of the wall has to be removed in order to fit the new 800mm door
0.72 x 2.23= 1.60
(continues on to next page)
14
2G Internal Walls and PartitionsPartitions are to be erected in the common room and to divide the store into a disabled friendly dormitory
Dormitory3.2 x 2.74= 8.77
Common Room0.7 x 2.45=1.72
Total Partitions= 8.77 + 1.72= 10.49
3 INTERNAL FINISHES
3A Wall FinishesArea of wall from each room added together (refer to back of calculations for individual data)= 244.51
3B Floor FinishesArea of floor from each room added together (refer to back of calculations for individual data)= 171.69
Refurbishment to the Existing DoorsKitchen > store door= 2.02 x 0.85= 1.71
Hallway > common room and dining room doors= (2.02 x 0.827) x 2= 3.34
Total (5.05 multiplied by 2 to account for both sides of the door)= 10.1
5 SERVICES
5K Fire and Lighting ProtectionArea of floor from each room added together (refer to back of calculations for individual data)= 171.69
15
7 WORK TO EXISTING BUILDING
Internal Wall DemolitionWall at chicane leading into common room to be shortened
1.70 x 2.45= 4.17
External Wall DemolitionWall at front entrance into porch to be widened
0.72 x 223= 1.61
8 EXTERNAL WORKS
8B Roads, Paths, Pavings and SurfacingPaving round the exterior of the building
70.74 (entire length of pathway) – 27.52 (deductions made for ramps and landings)= 43.22
ResurfacingResurfacing of the remainder of the courtyard minus the allocated car park area of 52.8m
Area 1= 11 x 2.87= 31.57
Area 2= 13.84 x 8.05= 111.41
Area 3= 11.43 x 5.04= 57.61
Total Area minus car park= 200.59 – 52.80= 147.79
