These beautiful flowers would really brighten up this the place and then everyone could enjoy them! Where do you think would be the best place to put these? (Pause and listen to the children.) “Those are some great ideas! Let’s put one right over here for Mr. Bear to hold. (Pick up one flowerpot and place it like the bear is holding it.) “Here you go, Mr. Bear. These flowers will make your fuzzy wuzzy heart so happy! “We have two more flowers.”

(Pick up one of the flowerpots and look around.) “Hmm. Aha! (Walk over to a table or a shelf or a windowsill in the storytelling area and happily place the flowerpot down just right.) “This is the perfect spot! There. This is fun! (Walk back to the last flowerpot and pick it up.) “Okay, we have on more flower. This one is so pretty, maybe I should just leave it right here in the middle of the room. (Adjust the pot a little to make it just right.) “How’s that? (Pause.) Wait a minute. There are only three flowerpots. We started with four flowerpots. Where’s the fourth flowerpot? (Look around.) “Oh, I remember! I gave them to my grandma when I had breakfast with her! But the three flowerpots we have left really make the place look special. I’m glad we shared the flowers with you and instead of keeping them to ourselves. (Look around and act very pleased with yourself.) “Yesiree. These flowers are so beautiful. It makes my heart happy to look at them. Enjoy the flowers, friends. I’ll see you after the Bible story!” (Host exits singing the same song from earlier.) Bible Story What You Need: A Bible Optional Story Images can be found in the Large Group Images folder. (02_LG35_Stage_Images) They can be used in conjunction with this script. STORYTELLER: “Hi, friends! All month long we have been celebrating Easter and how [Bottom Line] Jesus is alive! I have another super special true story from the Bible (hold up Bible) to tell you today, but I need your help. Can you be my story helpers? (Pause.) “Great! Like I said, today’s true story comes from the Bible. (Hold up the Bible, open it, and lay it to the side.) “Our story is about Jesus and His friends. Jesus died and came back, just like He said He would. Jesus’ friends knew that [Bottom Line] Jesus is alive because they saw Him and talked with Him and even ate breakfast with Him on the beach! (Option: Story Image W4 01) “One day, Jesus told His friends to meet Him on a mountain. Okay, story helpers. I want everyone to stand up and pretend you are climbing a mountain like this. (Demonstrate.) Climb, climb, climb to the top of the mountain! Whew! We made it! Thank you, story helpers! You can sit down now. (Option: Story Image W4 02) “Jesus’ friends did what He said and they met Him on a mountain. When they were on the mountain together, Jesus told His friends He had a very important job for them to do. It’s an important job He wants US to do, too. “Do you want to know what it is? Say, ‘I want to know!’ (Pause for children to respond.) (Option: Story Image W4 03) “Jesus said our important job is to tell EVERYONE (hold arms out straight in front of you, palms up, and bring them back to holding them up on each side of you) EVERYWHERE (raise both arms straight up overhead and down on each side like making a rainbow in the air) that [Bottom Line] Jesus is alive and we can follow Him! “Whoa! That is a very important job! Do you think we can do it? Sure we can! Stand up, story helpers, and let’s say that together. Just say what I say and do what I do.”
