Lúcia Dellagnelo is founder and director of Instituto Comunitário Grande Florianópolis (ICom), a community foundation based in Southern Brazil.
Dr. Dellagnelo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Masters of Arts degree in International Education and a Doctorate degree in
Human Development and Education from Harvard University.
The mission of ICom is to promote community development by
mobilizing, connecting and supporting donnors and civil society organizations,
convening different sectors of society in the region of Greater
Florianópolis.

Fernanda Bornhausen Sá is the founder and president of Instituto Voluntários em Ação (IVA), a non-profit organization based in Brazil.
Fernanda has had extensive experience on multi-stakeholder partnerships, having held key positions in the private, public, and non-profit sectors. Fernanda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the Federal University of Santa Catarina , and an MBA in Global Administration from the State University of Santa Catarina.
IVA was created in 1998 and its mission is to mobilize and engage volunteers and provide training
to volunteers and NGOs, thus promoting the culture of
volunteerism among the Brazil’s population.

Transparency for NGOsInstitutional Development
It is a free, open and interactive online platform, where the entire community can
find information about NGOs.
It was built as a collective effort of ‘self-regulation’ involving aroung 30 NGOs’ managers and practitioners, lawyers and
accountants.
Portal Transparência offers bases for NGOs to pursue institutional
development and accountability

Results
- Vibrant network of stronger NGOs and engaged donors - Technical and financial support to NGOs and donors in issues such as recycling, youth, entrepreneurship and NGO’s institucional development, benefiting directly 300 NGOs and their constituencies- ICom publishes the Vital Signs in Florianópolis since 2008, promoting cross-sector debates on community issues- Solid work on donor education and promotion of philanthropy in the community

Results
- ICom’s e-newsletter reaches almost 3.000 people of the community- The websites (portaltransparencia.org.br and icomfloripa.org.br) sum up 7.000 visits/month with an average time of 5 minutes per visit- ICom recently started its operations on social networks, designing strategies that can be replicated by local NGOs in order to develop a better positioning of the sector as a whole and a stronger movement using technology for social change

Today, we increasingly recruit volunteers and integrate Non-profits through these channels, disseminate our campaigns and create connections between people and causes, as visibility of volunteering opportunities keeps growing.
