The following items originate from the estate of former big leaguer Lew Riggs. Lot includes: (1) original World Series program issued for games one and two of the 1939 World Series. Publication features a likeness of Lou Gehrig on the cover.

SCARCE 14” x 5” poster featuring Ernie Lombardi issued by the Baltimore & Ohio railroad. Handbill advertises “Special Excursion” to see the Reds and Phillies play a Sunday July 30th doubleheader. The Reds swept the double header by scores of 9-2 & 5-1. Poster is in fair/good with a couple pieces missing. $125

Vintage GAME USED baseball from an August 6th double header between the Reds v. Brooklyn Dodgers. As noted: ball was retrieved by fan Billy Bowen in the grandstand. Excellent condition.$125

Poignant 7” x 7.5” photo depicting fans anticipating the Reds arrival by train at the famous Union Terminal in Cincinnati. Great period image that captures one of the great times in Reds history. Photo has several light to moderate creases but has excellent contrast. I would grade it to be in good condition. $75

030 • LOUIS “RED” LUTZ HAND WRITTEN LETTER & MAILING ENVELOPE
Original letter written to a fan by former big leaguer Red Lutz. Lutz was a member of the 1922-23 Cincinnati Reds. The one page letter is written in blue ball point pen and dated 9.20.1980. It briefly describes his career in baseball and his life thereafter. It’s signed at the bottom and is in excellent condition. $20

I obtained these autographs at Reds Spring Training in 2007. Signatures include: Josh Hamilton, Brandon Phillips and Joey Votto (bottom panel). Edwin Encarnacion (left panel). Javier Valentine & Paul Janish (top panel) Kirk Sarloos, Jerry Gil and Juan Castro (right panel). Red ink has faded slightly to a reddish pink. $55

Possibly “one of a kind” 3 3/8 ” x 2 1/8” season pass issued by the Reds to Pete Rose’s wife Karolyn for admittance to Crosley Field during the 1968 baseball season. Pass is in excellent / near mint condition and features either Karolyn’s signature or Pete signing for her on the back!

Vintage un-scored 8.5” X 11” scorecard issued by the now defunct Wheel Café commemorating the 1975-76 World Champion Reds. These are scarcer than the menu’s issued to commemorate the 1939 National League Championship team. Scorecard is in very good / excellent condition but does a bend on the bottom right corner and some age toning. $25

I don’t know much about this item other than I’ve never seen another one. It was issued to commemorate the Reds 1972 National League Championship. The graphics are embossed and painted or enamel. It appears it was possibly intended to be affixed to an object such as a satchel or briefcase but I’m not really sure… Measures 3 1/8” in diameter. It has a couple dints and scratches but is still in very good condition. Japan is printed on the paper backing. Displays VERY nicely! $55

048 • VINTAGE BIG RED MACHINE ERA PENNANT This original pennant comes from the days of the Big Red Machine. Pennant measures approx. 30"x12" and is in excellent condition, except for a spot toward the top/center of the pennant. This is the only example I have encountered.$85
