Superchips  develops  a  unique  ECU  remap  for  each  car.  HDi  engine  tuning  is  different  from  a  GTi  remap.  A  turbo  diesel  remap  for  one  car  will  be  different  from  another.  And  petrol  engine  ECU  remaps  will  be  different  again.      Superchips  invests  extensively  in  development  and  testing  and  we  bring  over  30  years  of  experience  to  the  job.  We  arrive  at  the  optimised  settings  for  your  make  and  model  of  vehicle,  ensuring  that  each  remap  is  as  individual  as  the  software  inside  your  ECU,  safely  eliminating  those  ‘performance  compromises’.      In  most  cases  this  remapped  program  is  installed  electronically  and  remotely  through  the  car’s  diagnostic  port;  there’s  no  replacement  chip,  and  we  don’t  touch  the  ECU  itself.      And  we  always  test  your  vehicle  before  handing  it  back  for  you  to  enjoy,  just  making  sure  everything  is  operating  as  it  should  be.    For  further  details  contact  us  on  01326  373825,  www.renaultmillers.co.uk  or  call  in  at  Millers  Garages,  Tregoniggie  ind  est,  Falmouth,  Cornwall  TR114SN.

Superchips

Get  more  from  your  car  Superchips:  delivering  ECU  remaps  since  1977.  Be  driven  by  us.    Superchips  ECU  remaps  will  optimise  the  performance  of  your  car  or  van,  helping  to  maximize  your  driving  pleasure.  Engine  tuning,  for  petrol  or  diesel  engines,  will  change  your  driving  experience.    There  are  so  many  limits  on  driving  these  days.  Even  your  car’s  intended  performance  is  restricted  because  car  manufacturers  have  to  allow  for  drivers  who  do  not  adhere  to  service  schedules  and  who  use  sub-‐standard  fuels.  Another  reason  why  manufactures  restrict  vehicles  is  to  have  a  variation  in  the  model  range  and  to  tune  your  vehicle  for  any  climate  across  Europe  from  Finland  to  Spain.  The  good  news  is  that  ECU  remap  software  can  free  you  from  these  limits.    So  if  you  want  the  best  from  your  car  or  van  you  need  an  engine  ECU  remap.  Just  call  Millers  Garages  Falmouth  and  we  will  free  your  engine  from  those  restrictive  limits,  giving  you  a  more  rewarding,  more  exciting  drive.    How  does  a  Superchips  ECU  remap  for  petrol,  TDi,  GTi  and  HDi  work?    Engine  chipping  came  about  after  the  introduction  of  the  ECU.  Since  the  early  1990s,  most  engines  have  been  controlled  by  an  on-‐board  computer,  the  engine  control  unit  (ECU),  which  amongst  other  functions,  defines  the  ignition  timing,  fuelling  and  boost  pressure  for  all  given  engine  speeds  and  loads.ECU  remapping  lets  us  change  the  way  the  engine  is  controlled  –  and  engine  tuning  gives  you  a  more  engaging  drive.

is proud to announce its

10TH ANNIVERSARY IN MAY 2014

“We are absolutely delighted with the way in which our Cornish Micro business has evolved over the past ten years” say partners Anne and Keven Ayres, “As Retailers, we really couldn’t have faced more challenging times and we are so proud of our achievements in the past decade”.

Originally founded in 2004 with the purpose of promoting Cornwall’s unique identity, the Cornish Store has worked tirelessly to become the ultimate retailer of all things Cornish both in-store and on-line.

Our reputation has been built on our strong range of quality products, many exclusive, including our growing own brand range, created and designed by us. Added to this is our total commitment to good value for money and fair prices, backed up by the most excellent customer service!

At any one time over 120 Cornish producers are represented in-store and on-line.99% of all our products are sourced within the UK. Our first question is always “Can it be made in Cornwall and sold at a fair price?”

We believe in accessibility, whether it is our easy to use web site, www.thecornishstore.com , our sympathetically designed, well laid out store, or our easy to talk to, and friendly manner. Products which epitomise and celebrate Cornish culture and heritage must be easily obtainable for everyone; after all, Cornwall’s motto is “One and All”

It’s wonderful to know that around 50,000 vehicles are now sporting a Cornish sticker; on 4,000 breakfast tables or desks a Cornish quip mug has pride of place, and that 10,000 of you are proudly wearing a Cornish Tartan Tie, Cornish Rugby Shirt or one of our legendary Cornish Mafia T Shirts!

Listening to our customers helps us to improve our services and gives us ideas for new products! No point in selling what you don’t want to buy! You can always expect us to deal with you honestly, courteously and with a sense of humour!

Our Mission firmly remains the same; promoting Cornwall’s unique identity, changing the perception that Cornwall is just about pasties and cream teas, and supporting and helping to grow our local Cornish economy in the 21st century.

Our tremendous 10th Anniversary celebrations began on

March 5th, St.Piran’s Day! What other day could we possibly have chosen?!

Each month, for 10 months, we will be offering a 10% discount on a different product range!

So look out for these, in-store and on-line!

There will also be exclusive free gifts and promotions in the months ahead.

Finally, huge thanks to the 120,000 of you who visit our store each year, the 25,000 who shop with us on-line and all our lovely suppliers who have given us such a great service over the past 10 years!

Top Up Spiritually at a Filling Station near You!

The Filling Station is taking place at

The Penmorvah Hotel Budock Water

Falmouth TR11 5ED

Monday 19th May at 7:30 pm We invite you, whether you are a church member or not, to this friendly, social evening which will begin with fresh coffee and muffins. There will also be a live band to lead us in our informal and contemporary worship.

At our first meeting, we have as our Guest Speaker, Nick Crawley from Bristol. Nick is the appointed Associate Director for the South West of England Filling Station and regularly leads seminars at New Wine summer conferences. He led a large church in Zimbabwe for six years and has been on several missions abroad.

Read below about a recent experience of another Filling Station

“I wasn’t sure what to expect if I’m honest, but everyone was so welcoming. I felt completely at ease. I was genuinely uplifted by the experience. The feeling stayed with me for days afterwards, and I am really looking forward to the next event.”

So… if you are feeling spiritually dry and wanting more why not come along to our first Filling Station.

In Need of Fuel?

The Filling Station is a new informal way of expressing the Christian faith.

Using local monthly celebration meetings in unusual venues the local church is strengthened and helped in many ways.

The Filling Station is not a new Church denomination, rather a group of Christians who are celebrating their faith in God in an informal and authentic fashion.

Initially, this Filling Station is being set up by St Budock Church with the support of the other Anglican churches in the Falmouth and Penryn area and The Diocese of Truro

Are you feeling spiritually dry and wanting more? Perhaps a Filling Station meeting is the answer.

Consultation open for

Falmouth Bay special bird protection site Falmouth residents are being given the opportunity to feedback on the potential creation of a Special Protection Area (pSPA) in Falmouth Bay. Natural England is inviting feedback on the proposed site, which during the winter months attracts three important species of bird. The area, which would stretch from Falmouth Bay to St Austell Bay, sees the great northern diver, black-throated diver and Slavnian grebe migrate to the proposed site. Falmouth Harbour Commissioners has been working closely with Natural England to better understand the potential impacts of designation on port activities and plan to respond as part of the consultation process. As a result of ongoing discussions, a working agreement has been signed between FHC and Natural England to facilitate further research and to ensure that any management measures proposed are supported by robust science. The proposed Falmouth Bay to St Austell Bay pSPA seaward boundary extends between 4 and 13 km offshore and covers the marine environment between Nare Point in the west and Gribbin Head in the east, including intertidal parts of the Helford River and Fal complex. Harriet Knowles, Environment Manager, Falmouth Harbour Commissioners, said: “After having constructive discussions about the proposed special protection site we’re really pleased to be working collaboratively with Natural England to ensure that there will be an appropriate balance in the management process should the designation be confirmed. We are encouraged that Natural England has concluded that current port activities pose low risk to the bird species. We are encouraging all those who have an interest in using the harbour to participate in the consultation exercise.” For more information about the consultation, which is open until 14th April 2014, and to submit a response, please visit: http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/ourwork/conservation/designations/spa/falmouth-staustell-consultation.aspx

Join the Great Eggcase Hunt Commonly called mermaids’ purses, these are in fact the eggcases of rays and dogfish which are members of the shark family (elasmobranchs). The most common rays around Cornwall are Thornback, Spotted, Small Eyed and Blonde, whilst the egg laying dogfish are the Lesser Spotted (catshark) and the Bull Huss (nursehound). Eggcase Hunts are a valuable way for the Shark Trust to gather data on these fish and anyone can join in. We are holding an Eggcase Hunt on 29th & 30th March and will be based at Swanpool Beach Café from 10.00am until 2.00pm on both days. You can collect your identification sheets before you go off hunting, or bring your eggcases for us to record. There will be fact sheets and stickers on sharks and the Shark Trust. Children who are members of the Children’s University can bring their passports along to have their hours recorded. FTC  now  has  the  framework  to  offer  coaching  and  playing  experiences  to  children  as  little  as  3  years  (Mum’s  &  Tots)  through  their  mini  then  junior  years  into  adulthood  and  beyond.  New  this  year….  Falmouth  Sports  Club  have  entered  teams  in  the  Mini  U8  &  U9  and  Junior  U14  Aegon  Tennis  Leagues.  Also,  new  Tennis  Camps  over  the  Easter  holidays.    “I  love  seeing  these  children  having  such  a  great  time  while  learning,  training  and  competing”.    Cardio  Tennis  starts  at  St.  Michaels  Hotel  in  April.  “It’s  a  great  class  with  no  prior  tennis  skills  needed.  The  class  is  all  about  keeping  your  heart  rate  at  the  optimal  level  to  burn  fat.  Lots  of  running,  footwork  drills  and  hitting  balls  on  court  with  music.  Keep  an  eye  and  ear  on  the  Gylly  Beach  courts  Tuesday  evenings  from  6pm”.

FTC  is  becoming  more  and  more  visible  around  Falmouth  and  the  surrounding  towns.  “The  support  I  have  received  from  local  business  who  realise  how  important  youth  sports  are  has  been  brilliant.  To  name  but  a  few  Whirlwind  Sports,  Gylly  Beach  Café,  Espressini  and  Mylor  Café  have  all  backed  my  tournaments  and  continue  to  support  my  ideas  of  getting  lots  of  young  players  enjoying  tennis  around  Falmouth.  Coming  soon….  ‘Gylly  Beach  Café  Parent  and  Child  Tournament’  and  the  ‘Espressini  Adult  and  Junior  Tournament’,  both  to  be  held  at  Falmouth  Sports  Club”.

For  more  information  about  classes,  tournaments  or  venues  contacts  Des  at    [email protected]  [email protected]  facebook.com/FalmouthTennisCompany

It ’s going to be a long, hot summer…. the tennis court is a great place to spend it .

TRESCOBEAS SURGERY NO REPEAT BUSINESS PLEASE!!! Most businesses positively encourage their customers to come back as the more times they use them the better!!!

At Trescobeas Surgery we think differently as we want our customers (our patients) to stay fit and healthy and not require our services. Our Mantra is “Preventative Medicine kills Repeat Business” To do this we already invest a significant amount of time into keeping our patients well; regular check-ups for our Asthmatics, Diabetics and those with COPD, Heart Disease and High Blood pressure as well as checking up on our patients discharged from hospital to they have the right aftercare.

However, we feel we need to do more and so we are delighted to announce a ground breaking initiative which sees us link in with Falmouth’s Core Fitness and Well Being Centre. Both Trescobeas Surgery and The Core know that exercise is a vital ingredient to keeping well in both body and mind and are committed to keeping Falmouth healthy. But we also know exercise needs to be easily accessible for everyone, cheap and above all enjoyable!! Therefore The Core will offer every Trescobeas Surgery patient 2 weeks free membership and special offers thereafter.

We are partnering with The Core as they offer something for all our 9500 patients. As well as the extensive gym facilities they run a huge array of classes from those that challenge the most capable to courses specialising in Rehab, Obesity, Falls Prevention, COPD, Junior Gym, Mental Health, Stroke, and Parkinsons.

To get your voucher simply pop into the surgery and see our receptionists.
