We are glad to have you worship with us.
Palm Sunday, 2019
Here are two thoughts that I would like us all to contemplate as we approach Holy Week and Easter. Our Lord enters the Beautiful Gate to
begin The Passion. But why?
O Christ our God, When Thou didst raise Lazarus from the dead before Thy Passion,
Thou didst confirm the resurrection of the universe Wherefore, we like children,
carry the banner of triumph and victory, and we cry to Thee, O Conqueror of love,
Hosanna in the highest Blessed is He that cometh in the Name of the Lord –Toparion of Lazarus
“No pain, no palm; no thorns, no throne; no gall, no glory; no cross,
no crown.” (William Penn)
Welcome, my beloved, to worship this morning! I am glad that you are here.
Pastor Jerry
Welcome, Guests, to Americus First United Methodist Church! We are glad you are here and hope you worship with us again.

Group Questions
April 17, 2019 Sermon: Seven Last Words from the Cross: Part Five: “I am Thirsty” Scripture: John 19:28-29
Please read Exodus 12:22, 2 Corinthians 5:7, Psalm 22:15, 69:22, and John 18:11. 1. What is John telling us when Jesus says, “I am thirsty?” 2. Based on these two verses, what are you thirsty for? Please read Revelation 7:16-17. What does this passage say about Jesus? About God? About you? The folks around the cross offer “sour wine” to shake Jesus’ thirst. That’s the best that we can do theologically, too. 1. Discuss with your group all of the times in the Gospel John that Jesus talks about the fact that He
is living water. When Jesus says, “It is finished,” what do you think that means?
