BoxofJustice
During the 11:00 Sunday School hour on April 26,
Pastor Matt, Nancy and Tim Bonner, and Steve
Yoder will report on the "solutions" that the justice
network are proposing to address childhood trauma,
the incarceration of the mentally ill, and the lack of
affordable housing in Lawrence. This will be your
opportunity to become better informed about these
critical local issues and to prepare for attending the
Nehemiah Action Assembly on May 7 at the Lied
Center.
Have a blessed day,

Building Reconstruction Update:
April 13-17: Floor installers
have been busy all week. Several
of the Sunday school classrooms
now have carpeting. Concrete
work has been started out front
and the sanctuary interior has
been buzzing with activity!
April 20-24: Remainder of
Sunday School rooms to be
carpeted.
Why the Worship Service Time Change?
The Spiritual Leadership Team and Ministries have
been discerning together over several weeks an optimal
schedule during our construction and temporary move
into the Roger Williams Room for worship. We con-
sidered the following factors in our decision:
• The difficulty holding the smaller 8:30 service in
the overwhelming space of the Roger Williams
Room.
• The inequity of “combining” both services by
simply cancelling the first service and expecting
only 8:30 worshippers to change.
• The opportunity to consider flexible and creative
Sunday school options, youth group time, and a
“fellowship hour” between worship and Sunday
school.
If you plan to attend The Dialogue Institute’s Sev-
enth Annual Friendship Dinner on April 28, please
RSVP by next Tuesday, April 21st. Include your full
name & menu preference (chicken or vegetarian) to:
[email protected]. Keynote speaker, Oliver
A. Hall; Poet, Xanath Caraza, UMKC; Remark, Jeffrey
P. Moran, PhD, History Dept., KU.
God at Work in the
World:
For April 22 and 29 we will con-
tinue the theme of "God at Work
in the World," only this time with a personal touch
from you.
You are invited to bring magazine or newspaper arti-
cles, or FB posts, or pictures you have taken, or your
own stories to share, about how you have seen God at
work in the world. It doesn't have to be extravagant or
far-out, though it could be. It can be as simple as what
one youth brought to an event like this: a newspaper
picture of the flowers and gifts left at the palace when
Lady Diana was killed. The youth said that he saw God
in the comfort and beauty of that picture.
So, be aware of God in your everyday life, and come the
next few Wednesdays at 6:40 to share and listen about
"God at Work in the World," our world.
There will also be a Bible study to go along with the
time of sharing.
