PRAYER DURING AN EPIDEMIC:
Lord Jesus,
Hear our pleas, our Good Shepherd and Divine Physi-
cian, We implore your mercy in the wake of an out-
break of serious illness and disease.
Guide our efforts to prevent contagion and make
preparations to care for those most vulnerable. As-
sist all professionals and volunteers who work to
eradicate the epidemic now spreading. May our ac-
tions be marked by your steadfast love and selfless
service and never by panic or fear.
Bestow your comfort and healing to the sick, sustain
and strengthen them by your grace. May they know
your closeness as they carry the cross of illness.
And may all who have been called from this life
come to worship you eternally with all the saints as
you grant consolation and peace to their mourners.
Amen.
Holy Mary , Health of the Sick, pray for us.
St. Joseph, Hope of the Sick, pray for us.
St. Rocco, protector against epidemics, pray for us.

The Easter Season The word "Easter" comes from Old English, meaning the "East." The sun, which rises in the East, "bringing light, warmth and hope, is a symbol for the Christian of the rising Christ, who is the true light of the world." This year Easter Sunday was celebrated on April 12. The greatest of all liturgical seasons, Easter is a time to rest in "the joy of glorified life and the victory over death, expressed most fully in the great resounding cry of the Christian: Alleluia!" (The Exsultet: The Proclamation of Easter)
"The word, 'Pascha,' or 'Pasch,' comes from the Greek word for the 'Passover.' The early Christians used the word to describe the resurrection of Jesus as the Christian Passover. Today, we sometimes refer to the death and resurrection of Jesus as the Paschal Mystery, which is derived from the word, 'Pasch.' Orthodox Christians still use the word, 'Pascha' when referring to Easter.
The proclamation of Easter does not end with Easter Sunday: That is only the beginning. The Easter season, known as Easter Time, is celebrated for 50 days. It culminates with the celebration of Jesus' ascension into heaven, and Pentecost, which marks the gift of the Holy Spirit to the Apostles and birthday of the Church. The Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord is Thursday, May 21st, but since it is a moveable feast, it is transferred in many dioceses to Sunday, May 24th. Pentecost will be celebrated Sunday, May 31st, and that marks the end of the Easter season. *Taken from dolr.org (Diocese of Little Rock)

ness of life before birth is attacked, to
stand up and proclaim
that no one ever has
the authority to de-
stroy unborn life.
Father Eke will be offering these
Mass intentions privately in the
chapel, not open to the public.
A PRAYER FOR THE FAMILY Jesus, our most loving redeemer,
You came to enlighten the world
With your teaching and example.
You willed to spend the greater part of Your life
In humble obedience to Mary and Joseph
in the poor home of Nazareth.
In this way, You sanctified that family,
which was to be an example for all Christian families.
Graciously accept our family, which we dedicate and
consecrate to You this day.
Be pleased to protect, guard and keep it in holy fear, in peace,
and in the harmony of Christian charity
By conforming ourselves to the Divine model of Your family. Amen
“Strength grows in
the moments when you think
you can’t go on but you keep
going anyway.”
A PRAYER FOR THE FAMILY (Composed by St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta)
Heavenly Father, You have given us the model of life in the Holy Family of Nazareth.
Help us, O Loving Father, to make our family another Nazareth where love, peace & joy reign.
May it be deeply contemplative, intensely Eucharistic, revived with joy.
Help us to stay together in joy and sorrow in family prayer.
Teach us to see Jesus in the members of our families, especially in their distressing disguise.
May the Eucharistic heart of Jesus make our hearts humble like his and help us to carry out our family duties
in a holy way.
May we love one another as God loves each one of us, more and more each day, and forgive each other’s
faults as you forgive our sins. Help us, O Loving Father, to take whatever you give and give whatever you
take with a big smile.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, cause of our joy, pray for us.
St. Joseph, pray for us.
Holy Guardian Angels, be always with us, guide and protect us.
Amen!

heart to readily defend our freedoms when they are threatened; give us courage in making our voices heard on behalf
of the rights of Your Church & the freedom of conscience of all people of faith. Grant, we pray, O heavenly Father, a
clear and united voice to all your sons & daughters gathered in Your Church in this decisive hour in the history of our
