I started singing around the house when I was
about 4. I started acting when I was 7 going on 8.
What inspired me to sing was hearing the music
and feeling free with it. The thing that Inspired
me to act was getting to be someone else and
doing what that character would do.
I like getting into character it’s really fun.
I love to write short stories (although my
mom teases me about never finishing them)
I love to read, I like to play video games,
listen to my Ipod, and network on facebook.
I also like learning many new things.
I have performed at the Riverfront Theater in Milford,
Delaware as an orphan in Annie. I have performed at
The Delaware Children's Theater numerous times. I
performed my first professional play in Philadelphia at
The Prince Music Theater opposite Leslie Uggams
In Stormy Weather. I have performed live on stage at
The Philadelphia Book Festival and I sang the
National Anthem in 2008 at Frawley Stadium for Duffy's Annual Celebrity Softball Game.
My first stage play was Annie in which I was cast as the orphan July in Milford, Delaware.
In Scrooge and Aladdin I was cast in the ensemble (singing, singing, singing). In Stormy
Weather, Imagining the life of Lena Horne I was double cast as Young Gail (Lena's daughter)
and Amy ( Lena's grand daughter). Last year I performed for the first time in New York City
when I was cast as Shana in the musical "WRAPPED" which was part of the New York
Musical Festival, that was alot of fun because I got to perform my first Rap Song.
I also performed my first school musical at Cab Calloway School of the Arts last year when
I was cast in Music Man, that was an honor because 6th grader's normally don't get cast
in the school musicals.
When I was cast in Stormy Weather we made a cast appearance at the 30th Street Train
Station for the Pathmark Black History Month celebration in which we sang a song from
the show.
Most recently I guest-starred on Law & Order SVU with Cicely Tyson in the episode entitled
“Hell” in which I played an African Refugee who had been raped and left for dead in an alley.
My character's name was Miriam Burdett.
I've only done a few student films BUT I plan to make it to the big screen one day!
