Since October I’ve been on this incredible journey with the 42 people above. We’ve seen some amazing things happen, some of which I shared with you in a previous update. But there is so much more I want to share. Staffing this DTS (Discipleship Training School) has been such a great opportunity. God came and moved and changed all our lives. I especially saw the change in myself and the way that I lead. He showed me how to step up and actually disciple young people into missions. Which is something that I am really passionate about. So let me take you down memory lane with me and break down the past 6 months …. The DTS begins. We start off with 6 weeks of lectures, including teaching on Identity, Missions, Relationships, and other various topics. April 2010 Update Townsville, Australia October 2009 to NOW!!

Which is something

that I am really passionate about.

So let me take you down memory lane with me and break down the past 6 months ….

The DTS begins. We start off with 6 weeks of lectures, including teaching on Identity, Missions, Relationships, and other various topics.

PNG Here We Come!

Three weeks spent in the Highlands of

PNG

After PNG we headed back to Townsville for more lectures. And after that it was straight into the Holiday Season.

Christmas was filled with great friends and heaps of food. I mean fun. It was really great to get the whole DTS together Christmas morning to celebrate.

New Years flew by and then it was onto Major Outreach.

You thought going to PNG was crazy. Why not add in a 4 day road trip with 43 people, 4 vans, and 3 trailers down the entire East coast of Australia? That’s right. We loaded up the whole DTS and drove down to Canberra, ACT for YWAM’s 50th Jubilee. On the way down we were able to crash in some amazing locations, such as in a town called Parkes. This is where our base director Ken Mulligan grew up. We were the first DTS to have visited his farm and it was such a privilege to be there.

The Epic Journey Continues

Over 500 YWAMers from all over Australia came together for 1 week of celebrations. Not only was it amazing to have our YWAM family together, but our founders Loren and Darlene Cunningham came to impart their wisdom and stories. It was so cool to be able to see the people who have given so much to our ministry in the flesh. As well as being able to worship with such a variety of people. Some lasting friends were made and I loved every minute of it.

Enter Newcastle and the MV Pacific Link

The Australia and PNG Ship Tour is what our Major Outreach focused on. We were full steam ahead getting pre pared for the arrival and kick of the Tour. The YWAM Australia and PNG Ship Tour is a tour that brings two nations together. It is a partnership between Papua New Guinea and Australia. We want to address the health needs in Papua and give young Australians the chance to make a difference. There are two main focuses. The first being, calling 100,000 youth into missions by making them aware of

the opportunities out there and getting them involved. This can be in various ways such as collecting glasses, toothbrushes, or sunnies. The 2nd being taking the medical ship up the Papua New Guinea and providing free health care for those in need. What’s Next for Me Well as you read above we here in YWAM Australia have launched a Medical Ship, and I get the absolute privilege to continue working with it. I will still be based here in Townsville, but my main responsibilities are in an area called Donor Services. This entails handling all the people who have donated to the ministry or anyone who has filled out response cards. It is my job to make sure anyone who has come in contact with us receives updates and newsletters. Let me just say I am getting pretty good at stuffing envelopes. I am really enjoying being apart of this new ministry here in YWAM and can’t wait to see what the next 6 months will look like.
