Men’s SectionThanks to everyone who bought raffle tickets supporting James and Nick at theJunior State Championships. You probably know by now that James and Nick wererunners up in the Pairs and James went on to win Gold in the final of the State fours. This is a fantastic result and well deserved. Anyone who has played with James andNick could not help but be impressed by their abilities and good nature, we wishthem well in their future endeavours. Lewis is preparing for the District under 25’sand on behalf of all members we wish him every success. Great to see our LadyPresident Barbara at the Club last Saturday, we hope it’s not too long before Barbaraand Don are back on the green. On behalf of those attending, I would like to thank Graham Jewell for organisingThursday Night Snooker, thanks too for the assistance of Tim, Darryl and Shane. Iwould encourage more of our members to join in, it’s a great night and Margy cooksup a very tasty Steak Sandwich and chips for $10.00. Some might think $10.00 is abit much for a steak sandwich but it actually feeds either a really, really hungryperson or a family of four. Thanks to Margaret Dahl for donating the screens in thedining room, they look great and I’m sure are much appreciated by our members andguests. Thanks to Tim Powell for the pot plants in the dining room, they too helpbrighten the room and add to the comfort of diners. Members will have noticed theminimum length for an end mark has been changed, now 21 metres. Nominations forplaying District Singles, Pairs and Fours are on the board, nominations close May15th. Open to all male members of our Club as long as you are a full financialmember. Nomination fee is $16.00 per player and is to be paid to the Men’s SectionSecretary (Bob Graham) by May 8.
Cheers Bob.
