1.1. Industry’s First 30 V P-Channel Chipscale MOSFET in 1 mm by 1.5 mm Size; Industry’s Lowest On-Resistance for 30 V in 1.6 mm by 1.6 mm Size
With a compact 1 mm by 1.5 mm size, Vishay‟s new Si8497DB is the industry‟s smallest 30 V chipscale p-channel power MOSFET, while the Si8487DB provides the lowest on-resistance available for a 30 V chipscale device in the 1.6 mm by 1.6 mm form factor. Product Benefits:
Combine low on-resistance and very small size for 30 V
applications
Saves space on PCB for compact, slim end products
Lowest on-resistance for 1.6 mm by 1.6 mm and 1 mm by 1.5 mm
form factors, down to 31 mΩ (Si8487DB) and 53 mΩ (Si8497DB)
respectively
Translates into lower voltage drops across the load switch, reducing the occurrence of undervoltage
lockouts in laptop battery management circuits

2.1. New V(B,F)T1045BP, V(B,F)T2045BP, V(B,F)T3045BP, and V(B,F)T4045BP TMBS® Trench MOS Barrier Schottky Rectifiers
For PV solar cell bypass protection, Vishay‟s 12 new 45 V TMBS® Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers offer a wide range of current ratings from 10 A to 40 A and forward voltage drops down to 0.51 V typical at 20 A in power TO-220AC, ITO-220AC, and TO-263AB packages. Product Benefits:
Single chip configuration
Maximum operation junction temperature of 150 °C
≤ 200 °C maximum junction temperature in DC forward current without
reverse bias (t ≤ 1 hour)
Compliant to RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC
TO-263AB package offers an MSL moisture sensitivity level of 1, per J-STD-
020, LF maximum peak of 245 °C

Vishay‟s dual-chip 45 V TMBS® Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers won a Product of the Year award from EN-Genius Network (www.en-genius.net), a leading information source for electronic design engineers.
Recognized with the EN-Genius award for Best Rectifier Solution for Solar Cell Protection, Vishay‟s dual-chip 45 V TMBS rectifiers feature a wide range of current ratings from 10 A to 60 A and extremely low forward voltage drops down to 0.33 V typical at 10 V. Optimized for use in solar cell junction boxes as bypass diodes, each device is offered in the TO-220AB, ITO-220AB, and TO-263AB packages and provides a maximum operating junction temperature of + 150 °C. The winning rectifiers include the V(B,F)T1045CBP, V(B,F)T2045CBP, V(B,F)T3045CBP, and V(B,F)T6045CBP. “These are going to be truly huge-volume parts and, at the moment, will virtually corner the bypass protection market for PV solar cell operation. The pricing examples examined show that they will also be very profitable devices for Vishay — which they thoroughly deserve,” EN-Genius Network said. 3.4. New VLMx1300 Series ChipLEDs
Vishay‟s new VLMx1300 series of super-thin color and white ChipLEDs have a maximum luminous intensity of 450 mcd for colors and 180 mcd for white, with a height profile of 0.8 mm. The 0603 VLMx1300 LEDs are meant for small-scale, high-brightness products that must work reliably in demanding environments.

Vishay‟s CNY64ST and CNY65ST Cat IV high-voltage isolation optocouplers have won a Product of the Year award from EN-Genius Network (www.en-genius.net), a leading information source for electronic design engineers.
Recipients of the EN-Genius Network‟s 2011 Product of the Year Awards were selected by Paul McGoldrick, EN-Genius editor in chief, and his editorial colleagues Lee Goldberg and Alex Mendelsohn, from products reviewed by the publication throughout the year. Winner for Best Cat IV Optocouplers, Vishay‟s CNY64ST and CNY65ST are the industry‟s first such devices available in surface-mount packages. Optimized for solar and wind turbine installations, the devices protect equipment and people from being damaged or injured by a high-voltage spike or transient of up to 12,000 V and a recurring peak voltage of 1450 V while allowing data to pass from the high-voltage side to low-voltage monitoring equipment. “The application range for these optocouplers is huge, and the SMD packaging enables very much larger volume production runs in a more economical manner. New PowerCAD On-Line Simulation Tool for Point-of-Load DC/DC Circuits Now available on our website, Vishay‟s new PowerCAD Simulation tool is a free on-line tool that will give our customers a fast and convenient way to test and optimize DC/DC circuits built with Vishay Siliconix regulator ICs. Vishay has designed the PowerCAD Simulation tool with an intuitive interface that supports both experienced analog and power designers as well as junior or digital designers with less experience in high-power, high-frequency voltage regulator design. Depending on the required operating conditions, the customer can select the appropriate regulator from the Vishay product offering and generate a full circuit schematic for the application. The schematic can then be edited as required for more advanced users or for performance comparison purposes. Once the basic circuit is created, the customer can perform DC, transient, and start-up simulations with visibility of all the circuit node waveforms. An efficiency analysis and optimization of the circuit with detailed power loss analysis may also be performed. Following these steps, the PowerCAD Simulation tool generates a bill of materials (BOM) available for online ordering. This allows a quick validation that will dramatically reduce customer design cycle times. The circuit simulation can also be shared easily with Vishay FAEs for additional technical support or any other related question. ® family of
fully protected high-efficiency, high-frequency step-down voltage regulators. 5.3. Vishay Holds 50th Anniversary Celebration in Malvern
On February 22, Vishay held a 50th Anniversary Celebration at Company headquarters in Malvern, Pennsylvania. The program included a welcome and introduction by Carl Fritz, Administrative President, the Americas; a short address by Marc Mostovoy, a long-time friend of the late Dr. Felix Zandman and his wife Ruta Zandman; musical performances by Kristin Lee (violin) and Alexandre Moutouzkine (piano); the showing of a short video highlighting key events in Vishay‟s 50-year history; and presentation of awards to long-term Vishay employees. The event was a celebration of Vishay and of Dr. Zandman, who founded Vishay in
1962. Vishay has grown over the years to become one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components and a leader in the global electronics industry. Present at the event were Marc Zandman, Executive Chairman of the Board and Chief Business Development Officer; Dr. Gerald Paul, President and CEO; Mrs. Ruta Zandman; board members Frank Dieter Maier, Ronald M. Ruzic, and Dr. Abraham Ludomirski; Ziv Shoshani, board member and President and CEO of Vishay Precision Group (the company spun off by Vishay Intertechnology in 2010); Lori Lipcaman, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer; Dieter Wunderlich, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer; Johan Vandoorn, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer; David Valletta, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales; Peter Henrici, Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary; and others.
Vishay Receives Citation from State Senator Andrew Dinniman Pennsylvania State Senator Andrew Dinniman honored Vishay on the Company‟s 50th anniversary. Senator Dinniman presented a State Senate citation to Vishay congratulating the Company. The presentation took place on March 15 at the Company‟s headquarters in Malvern. “It‟s incredible and almost overwhelming to think about how far Vishay has come and how much it has grown since it was founded by the late Dr. Felix Zandman,” Dinniman said while presenting company officials with the citation. “Today, Vishay‟s technology and electronic components touch the lives of countless people around the globe on a daily basis.” Noted Dinniman, “To call Dr. Zandman‟s story inspirational is an understatement. It is a true tale of the triumph of the human spirit and how hard work and achievement can overcome tragedy and horrific circumstances. His work and his Company continue to change the world for the better. We can all learn something from the life of Zandman and the success of Vishay.”

APEC US At the recent Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC®), Feb. 5-9 in Orlando, Florida, Vishay showcased a broad array of products. Power MOSFET technologies including the company‟s new E Series of
