GRAND COUNCIL - LESS THAN FOUR MONTHS AWAY
Executive Director Kenny Walkup (Alpha Upsilon)[email protected]
Can you believe it? Grand Council is less than four months away! If you haven’t already done so, you should begin your fundraising as soon as possible. Reach out to your Dean’s for travel grants. Call your key alumni for donations and ask them to sponsor a Brother to attend. Plan a car wash or cookie bake with all of the proceeds going to the event.
We have a great event planned for you. There will be time dedicated to making your chapter better. There will be
time allocated to doing the business of the fraternity. There will be plenty of time for having fun and meeting your Brothers from around the country.
The chapter showcase has been moved to Tuesday night and will serve as our opening social. Bring your PDC items and sell them to your Brothers. Bring your chapter display and scrapbook to show off what your chapter did this year. A St Jude bowling fundraiser will be Thursday night. Speaking of Thursday, there will also be a float trip
planned for relaxing as your float down the river. Note: The St Jude bowling fundraiser and the float trip are limited to a certain number of participants. Register early to claim your spot!
Never been to a Grand Council you say. No problem. There will be a FAQ page in your registration materials. Grand Council is the ultimate fraternal experience. No Brother should graduate without attending at least one Grand Council. See you in Omaha!
2ND BIENNIAL REGIONAL T-SHIRT COMPETITION
Grand Vice President for Student Affairs Ryan Costantino (Eta)[email protected]
As our Fraternity continues to experience unprecedented growth we are continually working to strengthen the Fraternal bond between Chapters and Regions. As a result, the Executive Council has decided to continue with the Regional Pride Contest first held at the 68th Grand Council in Buffalo, NY. The Executive Council looks forward to supporting this contest again and we hope it will continue to foster and promote brotherhood within our regions!
To celebrate our enhanced regional organization, there will be a Regional T-Shirt Competition held during Grand Council this August. We are asking each region to design a t-shirt for their region. The judging criteria include:
1. Incorporation of Phi Delta Chi traditions and ideals (e.g., red carnation, colors, our motto)
2. Incorporation of their unique regional characteristics
3. Number of Brothers wearing the t-shirt during the first Regional Caucus at Grand Council
4. Percent of the Chapters in their respective region participating in the design of the t-shirt
5. Written description of the process of the design of the t-shirt
Note: The Regional t-shirt should be in good taste and represent the Fraternity well such that an image of it could be published in The Communicator.
Regional Correspondents will help coordinate the development of t-shirts within each region. An effort should be made to have a different design from previous years that is fully inclusive of all new Chapters
So get your region together, decide on a design and impress the judges at Grand Council!
AAAE,
Ryan Costantino
