From The Governor

Finally, spring is here, and before long summer will be here! We should start to see and welcome back our snow bird moose members. Our election of officers is upon us. Please see our election of officer’s information here in the newsletter. Our Lodge sure has been growing membership wise. If you see a new face in the lodge introduce yourself and welcome them into our Moose family. The Blessing of the Bikes/Special Olympics fundraiser is coming together very nicely – see the flyer and Facebook for more information and updates. We will be needing a lot of volunteers to make this a great event. It is June 11, 2016. We are having a TIPS training class in our Lodge on April 2, 2016 at 9:00 AM for anyone interested in bar tending. We have the Moose Lottery Calendars for sale - $20.00 each. We need to get these sold to keep our dues low! We at the Lodge are looking for any suggestions to help make the Lodge a better place. If you have a suggestion, please talk to a board member. We post a lot of information on a daily basis to our Facebook Page. Go to the Facebook page and just like, you will be able to see the page. Please look at it daily to keep yourself informed with all the Moose happenings. A big thank you to all that helped with the St Pats float and that donated candy for the parade. As always a Big Thank You to all of our Volunteers… we couldn’t do what we do with you! Fraternally, Tom

From The Administrator

Administrator’s Comments: Well the Moose year is coming to a closed and we have had a successful year. Our membership has grown to 450 members which puts us in line for the Lodge Premier Award. This is the highest award you can receive. Of course there is other criteria we have to meet. Let’s not let up on asking your friends to join our family fraternity. Election: A new board of officers will be elected for the new year which is May 1st. We need all of us to support the new board, as we are growing and the future of this lodge is in their hands. Walk-in Cooler Update: At the present time we owe approximately $1100.00. As I mentioned before this will be paid off by July. We are running out of refrigerator space and will have to address this problem soon. Moose Legion News: Our next Moose Legion Conferral will be held at the Houghton Lake Moose Lodge on April 16 at 2 PM. We have a great time at these functions. Once a year we have an Annual Picnic. This costs a Moose Legionnaire only $5.00 for his whole family. We also hold quarterly conferrals. Why don’t our non-legionnaires join the second degree? It only costs $20.00 to join. Ask any legionnaire to join and they will give you an application. Think about it!! Fraternally, Marlin

From The Senior Regent

As I finish up my last couple of weeks as Senior Regent, I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to the Women of the Moose board. A bunch of fun, crazy, and most of all loving women! They are the “Heart of the Moose”. They are the ones that come up with all the reasons to have a party, the meals we cook, and they go out into our Community to find people to help, and then they always find a way to make it happen. They take time out of their busy lives to make “The Moose” the place to be – they simply leave me in awe. I would also like to thank all of our Lodge and Chapter members – your generosity and support for all we do, you amaze me. You are a great bunch of people to make sure our plans always come together. And of course a special thanks to Betty Gilles for taking me under her wing and showing me the “Moose way”. I can never thank you enough for all you do! My best wishes to Sam Maldonado, as she steps up to be your new Senior Regent. Fraternally, Dee
