Dear Parent, The new Session has begun!.. Orientation programmes and a flurry of activities that has got all the students looking forward for what the New Session has in store for them.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

It is often said that a good beginning will ensure

a great ending. It was on this note that an

‘Orientation programme for parents of Class IX’

students was held. The aim of the session was to

familiarise the parents with the pattern of CCE,

the co-curricular activities and the list of formative

activities.

2 April 2016: The orientation for class 11 batch of

2016 was held on the 2nd of April 2016.. The

parents were oriented to the three streams in

AISSCE, the choice of subjects and the

assessment criteria. Parents were given an

insight on the activities conducted at School.

The Orientation programme was well received by

the parents. They are ready for the new start and

all ready to join hands with the School in taking

their wards to a bright future.

The secret of getting ahead is getting started. Don’t be afraid of change. It is leading you to a new beginning.

THE FIRST ASSEMBLY The secret of getting ahead is getting started. Don’t be afraid of change. It is leading you to a new beginning.

This is the idea that was expressed and shared in the first assembly of the academic year of 2016-17. The school flag hoisted by Principal, Mrs. Rekha Aggarwala marked the commencement of the New Session. The belief at Delhi Public School, Hyderabad is that there is no better way to start a day than by seeking the blessings of the Almighty. Thus, the assembly was presented with an inspiring prayer song from the school choir. Along with the beginning of a new session there was a hope among everybody. The hope to do better than what they did before and to surpass the benchmarks set by them to achieve new milestones. Encouraging and motivating everybody present in the assembly, K. Sravya and Naman Gour shared their views with their thought provoking speeches that inspired many. Principal madam in her address underscored the need to strive harder and perform better.

Small beginnings come with great things and in life, every end is just a new beginning. Never be too afraid to make a start …

And thus the flurry of events began!!!

Vegetable Printing Competition- Class I

As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life.

The Vegetable Printing Competition saw a

hundred per cent participation. The kids were left

to their own imagination. The theme was to draw

a design of their own and fill it with colour with

lady’s finger. Some kids managed to incorporate

different vegetable shapes to create beautiful

designs.

Food without Fire – Class V

Attired in chef caps and aprons, the students made a pretty picture and displayed their skill, knowledge and creativity by making scrumptious sandwiches, salads, rolls and burgers within 20 minutes. The excitement was infectious. They worked in teams and could come out with ingenious names and presentation. The four

categories were Healthy Starters, Sandwiches, Fruit and Vegetable Medley with Fruit Punch and Nutri Salads.

While some items scored in taste and nutritional value, the others excelled in arrangement and display. The attention to detail was remarkable! From the size of the portions, the condiments, the garnishing to the overall presentation, the students had thought of it all.
