Spotlight – Russ Farrer (Kitchen Manager) Russ was born in Provo, graduated from Orem High School in 1968, re-
ceived his Associates Degree from UVU in business and accounting and
has lived in Springville since 1988.
Russ hired his (future) wife to work for him in a restaurant he owned in
Nephi and after 7 years they were married. She had two children, he had
three and together they have one. They have twenty two grandchildren
and two great grandchildren.
Russ loves to golf. His other hobbies are building wood things that his wife
wants: little houses, farm tables, benches, cabinets, dollhouses, etc. He
also likes to read spy novels. His favorite foods are steak and chicken and
ethnic foods if they are done well.
Russ has operated and owned many restaurants. He worked for Robert Redford from 1970 to 1976. He met
Paul Newman and his blue, blue eyes. Once John Denver came back into the kitchen to chat when he sang
on the Sundance stage.
A funny story is that in 1999 he was driving through American Fork and saw a good looking Jeep marked
2000. He had been wanting one and it was a GREAT PRICE. When he went in to make the deal, he was
told that was the YEAR and not the price. He felt pretty dumb after that. (The price was actually $19000.)
A few things on Russ’s bucket list are visiting Augusta National in Georgia (home of the Master’s Golf Tour-
nament) and traveling to Scotland, Ireland and England.
He loves to have a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude). His favorite saying when asked how he is, is “I’m Lovely”
