This trip, which will be the seventh year in a row, allows area business owners to get a break from the cold and snow while relaxing, networking and working on their tan in a tropical getaway. The 2020 trip will depart for Ft. Lauderdale on Sunday, January 19th over Martin Luther King Day weekend. The cruise will begin on Monday, January 20th on board the Carnival Sunrise which is currently undergoing a $260 million dollar renovation and will return on Saturday, January 25th. This month we are spotlighting local business, Wellspring Lutheran Services, located at 1236 S. Monroe St., Monroe, MI 48161. Wellspring Lutheran Services recently celebrated a significant milestone of serving people in need. Not many organizations weather the test of time and can endure 125 years. Wellspring is one of the exceptions, though. “It’s because we’ve never taken
our eyes off having Christ at our core,” says president and CEO Dave Gehm. The rich history of the statewide nonprofit got its start in Monroe County back in 1893. Today, the Monroe Campus includes a skilled nursing and rehab center, as well as affordable housing for
seniors. Across Michigan, Wellspring has a wide range of services for children, families and seniors, including foster care and adoption, parenting support, behavioral health counseling, home health, in-home support, skilled nursing, assisted living, memory support, independent living, affordable housing and hospice.
