Baseball is Upon Us!Bill Connors Field and Sullivan Park have served Glasgow ball players well when its not under water.
we have over 50 kids sign up this year and were not done yet! That makes for two American Legion teams and three Babe Ruth teams. Our big problem is:WE ONLY HAVE ONE FIELD. While the current field is in a beautiful location at Sullivan Park, what this community needs is a new baseball/softball complex out of the flood plain.
We are envisioning a new Legion field (using the current one for tournaments), a Babe Ruth field (their fences are shorter), a 200ft-fence girls High School softball field and maybe another practice/warm up field. When is this all going to happen? Probably not this year or next year.

Valley County MSU Extension to Offer Sugar Easter Egg Workshop Elaborate sugar eggs, also called panorama Easter eggs, are a tradition that dates all the way back to the Victorians. The peek-inside Easter egg made from hard sugar and frilly decorations fit the Victorian sensibility and Easter celebration very nicely. They still come around every Easter, and their pretty innards always captivate the children and adults alike. You can make your own Sugar Eggs this year at a workshop offered by Valley County Extension Agent, Roubie Younkin, on Tuesday, April 8th. This workshop will be held in the Community Room of the Valley County Courthouse beginning at 5:30 p.m. and continuing until your creation is finished. Please call the Valley County Extension office 228-6241 to register for this Easter season opportunity.

For The Fox It Pays To Be Close To The Earth, Low On The Food ChainBy Diane Tipton, FWP Living close to the earth and low on the food chain seems to be working for the red fox in the West. Montana's fox population is thriving, according to Montana, Fish, Wildlife & Park's furbearer coordinator Brian Giddings. The red fox has a long history of association with humans, as do Montana's other canine species the swift fox, coyote and wolf. The red fox has been viewed in a variety of waysas a favorite of wildlife viewers, a pest to ranchers and farmers, and a highly appreciated furbearer. The fox has also been a prominent image in folklore and mythology. Some researchers also believe there may be mountain dwelling red fox populations in Montana. These foxes keep to the subalpine parklands and alpine meadows of the Rocky Mountains, particularly in the Yellowstone area and Beartooth Plateau. Research is underway to learn more about red fox mountain populations. The red fox that Montanans commonly see in agricultural and lowland areas is a light weight canid, about 10-15 pounds, and about 39-43 inches in total length, according to the Montana Field Guide. A red fox looks larger than it is due to its thick fur and extra-long, full tail. The red fox has an elongated body, with a narrow, fine-boned head, long, slender canine teeth, and relatively short legs. Its distinctively shaped muzzle is notably narrower than the average dogs. The tail of the red fox is nearly 70 percent as long as its body length some sources say. The red fox has an annual spring litter of kits. After a gestation of about two months, usually four to six kits with soft, dark brown fur are born blind, deaf and toothless. Their eyes open after about two weeks. Kits begin to leave their dens and experiment with solid food at about a month of age, though they continue to nurse for nearly two months. Fox can survive in a wide range of habitats, though they are often seen in agricultural areas. They prefer a mix of forest and open country near water. For protection and cover they will use burrows on well-drained sites such as hillsides, mountain slopes, or ravines. Foxes will also use the abandoned burrows of other burrowing wildlife. Red fox are reported to dig out excess soil from a burrow with their forepaws while also kicking away soil
with their hind legs. The result is a trampled area of fresh soil where new born kits eat and play. The omnivorous red fox feeds on voles, mice, woodchucks, deer mice and the like. The old fox in the hen house story speaks to their appetite for eggs, chickens, domestic rabbits and song birds. Globally there are more than 40 fox species. Fossils suggest that the red fox initially colonized North America from Eurasia across the Bering land bridge about 300,000 to 130,000 years before today, later expanding southward into the USA 130,000 to 100,000 years ago. There are a lot of questions about the fox as a species, its origins, and genetic makeup. Research is underway to learn more. In the western U.S., researchers are beginning to study the evolutionary history of the red fox through the use of genetic analysis.

Wednesdays teaser: You have a cube made of 10 x 10 x 10 smaller cubes, for a total of 1,000 smaller cubes. If you take off one layer of cubes, how many remain?Answer: The remaining cube will be 8 x 8 x 8. This will be 512 smaller cubes. A layer is taken from all sides of the cube, so it would reduce the dimensions by two, not one. Todays teaser: Wilber has been hired to paint the numbers 1 through 100 on 100 apartments. How many times will he have to paint 8?

Travels have gone well this month, and I am thankful for your prayers through this time. Many of you have casually or more seriously asked me in recent months about what my plans are for the rest of the year. In the midst of praying about and considering what Gods plans for me are after this initial two year commitment, I came across a quote by CS Lewis that has encouraged me to rest, refocus, and trust God.

While the priest was presenting a childrens sermon, he asked the children if they knew what the Resurrection was. Now, asking questions during childrens sermons is crucial, but at the same time, asking children questions in front of a congregation can also be very dangerous. In response to the question, little Charlie Baumann raised his hand. Yes, Charlie, what is the Resurrection? the priest asked. Says Charlie, I know that if you have a resurrection that lasts more than four hours you are supposed to call the doctor. It took ten minutes for the congregation to settle down enough for the service to continue.

Were now at the point where the Obama administration will lie to us, even though everyone knows theyre lying and they know we know theyre lying. I guess their strategy is to lie so much that everyone just becomes numb to the deceit and the lies start to seem routine. Its remarkable, but thats where we are. quote from Ed Rogers in his article entitled More Obamacare lies, no one is surprised, The Washington Post
From the liberal Washington Post:
