Work Experience

Our Year 12 Work Experience Week is quickly

approaching and will be taking place from Monday

18th – Friday 22nd July 2016.

Students will need to have a confirmed placement of

their choice by 1st July 2016 to ensure all the

relevant paper work is completed.

What do I need to do?

Find a placement for the specified week that

is relevant to your studies/ future career

ambitions.

Get a copy of their Liability Insurance for us

to keep hold of (can either be paper copy or

emailed to

[email protected] )

Fill in a parent/carer consent form and leave

at the pastoral office.

Once you have done that, you are ready to attend

your placement!

Remember – Make the most of your time in a work

environment, relevant experience will benefit with

future interviews (both employment & university!).

If you are struggling to find a placement, remember

that there is more than one department in

businesses. For example: The NHS isn’t all about

Nurses and Medicine etc. they have IT departments,

business administration teams, catering staff and

more! Email, call or write to businesses specifying

what area you are looking to gain experience in;

they will appreciate the support just as much as you

will appreciate theirs!

DEADLINE FOR ALL FORMS HANDED IN

FRIDAY 13TH MAY 2016.

It is encouraged the students find their own

placements, however, we can support if needed.

What’s Been Going On?

Big thank you to 9WK for their

of their work:

Do you want extra UCAS points for University? Would you like to develop your analysis, presentation and report writing skills before higher education or employment? Then the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is for you!! Students are required to write a 5000 word report or create an artefact on a topic of their choice. This project will start for Year 12 students after exams. Previous students have researched areas including biology, crime, natural disasters, prisons, dyslexia and much more. If this is something you think you might be interested in look out for further information in assemblies or form times. Thanks Miss Shakespeare
