MUN The 6th Annual International School of Curacao’s Model United Nations Conference (ISC MUN) will take place on April 1st and 2nd. This conference is the culminating activity for MUN students at ISC and provides an opportunity to experience a real MUN simulation whether or not they have attended one of the larger conferences abroad. INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF CURACAO MODEL U.N. “ISC MUN,” is a simulation of the work that is done in the United Nations. This is an opportunity for International School students to research and debate current issues by proposing solutions to world problems. The students will be representing various countries from around the world and non-governmental organizations as well. Each student must research and prepare to debate major world issues from the perspective of their chosen country. Given the conflicting views of many world events today, lively debate is anticipated. Five issues will be debated: The last stand of the gorilla: environmental crime

and conflict in the Congo Basin. Implementing measures to combat the concept of

“honor killing” in society. Preventing the acquisition by terrorists of radioactive

materials and sources. The Issue of Egypt: enabling a smooth transition to

democracy. Improving measures to prevent youth crime. From the Band Department We are introducing regular music assemblies for MS and HS during lunch hours. The events will be referred to as "Wednesday Lunch Matinees" and will be held between 10:45 - 11:15 am in the covered area, once a month. Regardless of school section and scheduled lunch break, students will be able to perform without having to miss any class time. The first Matinee will be held this coming Wednesday, March 23rd - please listen in and s u p p o r t t h e p e r f o r m i n g s t u d e n t s !
