Newsletter, Blog, Facebook, Emails, Skype? YEAH, we would understand if you were a little tired of Sean & Paige, India, orphan kids or our wild stories from the other side of the world. Truth is, though, that most of you pay attention to maybe one or two of the various communication mediums (and if so, we applaud you!). This is just another option. Welcome to our inaugural newsletter! COVENANT CHILDREN’S HOMES ONCE we settled in to our home here that we’re so blessed to have, our work with Covenant Children’s Homes was underway. There are nine homes currently running (10 kids each, cared for by the church family) and we are preparing for the opening of 11 more in May! Our work of directing, organizing, fundraising, marketing, collaborating, supporting and otherwise overseeing keeps us on our toes. DRIVING in India is always exciting. The first thing any Westerner says when speaking of their experience in India is “When we drove down the road, I just thought, ‘Well this is the end, I guess.’” Between the horns, the cows, the people, the distractions and the seemingly “anything goes” mentality, driving in India creates many memories. After a recent episode where our driver, in order to avoid a traffic backup, turned around on a national highway and started heading the other direction entirely, we realized that, since anything, ANYTHING can happen on an Indian road, these drivers are some of the best in the world... An India Moment Our time at the homes with the kids, like this time with the girls of Pernamitta, makes it all worth it! Smiles and laughter abound at the children’s homes like Marturu! Garland giving is an Indian welcoming tradition. After S.N. Padu above, we now have more flowers than a florist! Newsletter, Blog, Facebook, Emails, Skype?YEAH, we would understand if you were a little tired of Sean & Paige, India, orphan kids or our wild stories from the other side of the world. Truth is, though, that most of you pay attention to maybe one or two of the various communication mediums (and if so, we applaud you!). This is just another option. Welcome to our inaugural newsletter!

COVENANT CHILDREN’S HOMESONCE we settled in to our home here that we’re so blessed to have, our work with Covenant Children’s Homes was underway.

The first thing any Westerner says when speaking of their experience in India is “When we drove down the road, I just thought, ‘Well this is the end, I guess.’” Between the horns, the cows, the people, the distractions and the seemingly “anything goes” mentality, driving in India creates

many memories. After a recent episode where our driver, in order to avoid a traffic backup, turned around on a national highway and started heading the other direction entirely, we realized that, since anything, ANYTHING can happen on an Indian road, these drivers are some of the best in the world...

An India Moment

Our time at the homes with the kids, like this time with the girls of Pernamitta, makes it all worth it!

Smiles and laughter abound at the children’s homes like Marturu!

Garland giving is an Indian welcoming tradition. After S.N. Padu above, we now have more flowers than a florist!

Every Second Saturday, 90 Kids Come To Us!

And here’s what we do with them:

• Singing and worship (and watching the kids do so is inspiring)

• Home skits and performances

• Lunch (with a special treat of ice cream included)

• The ongoing Living Water Puppet Show series (written by Sean, a new talent)

• Games & Conclude

And, lest you think we came all this way just to do puppet shows, Second Saturday also gives the house parents a much-deserved break for just one day every month from a home full of 10 children! But we do admit, these are really fun days with all the kids. With 11 new homes opening in May, the number jumps from 90 to 200. Ready, set, go!

No Tweets - we know you’re sad!

Help out these kids:

Facebook Page: Covenant Children’s Homes, India

• Shoes: $25 for 10 pairs

• Ceiling Fans: $90 for 4

• School backpacks: $45 for 10

• 1-year sponsorship: $6,000

WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Every month or so we go visit our org. headquarters in Hyderabad, a city of 8 million, to stock up on a few essentials and even, amazingly enough in India, have a cheeseburger (yes, real beef) at the Hard Rock!

This is the Covenant Children’s Homes logo. Please consider connecting us with a board, church, organization or foundation you know that might be interested in partnering with us on behalf of these kids...

PICS OF “OUR” KIDS

Can you imagine taking on a home of boys like this? The pastor and his wife are amazing!

The colorful clothing of the Indian women and children is something foreigners are always mesmerized by.

We just celebrated 1 1/2 years married. Balancing such important work with our personal lives is a challenge, but we’re making a home in Ongole and welcome visitors in the future! No better time for you in India!
