WHY SHOULD WE RECYCLE
AGENDAINTEREST PROJECT: Why should we recycle? WORD STUDY: Words I learned MATH: Statistics READING: Conflict Types AMPP: Gym- What I would like to improve in SOCIAL STUDIES: Pictures from Bulliton Board SCIENCE: Water Cycle Presentation WRITING: Do something essay
WHY DID I CHOOSE RECYCLING?I believe that recycling is a good deed because it helps to save the environment. I believe recycling will help reduce the amout of trash dumped in landfills and oceans . Recycling is a very good way of saving energy and conserving the environment.
WHAT DID I LEARN
Did you know paper cups are often wax-coated which reduces their biodegradability further? Recycling one glass bottle saves enough electricity to light a 100 watt bulb for four hours!
Aluminum can recycling saves 95% of the energy needed to make aluminum. By recycling 1 ton of paper you save 587 pounds of air pollution.
DID YOU KNOWReasearch has shown that one of the largest garbage dumps is the regular feeding ground for many fish that we end up having for dinner. It is an estimated 3 1/2 million tons of garbage, mostly plastic that has sanked to the bottom and floating that covers miles of ocean stretching from the coast of California all the way to China. The plastic decomposes but never completely disappears and is sometimes mistaken for food by the fish we eat and also birds.
WORDS THAT I LEARNED
• Raw Material- unprocessed materials of any kind.
• Conserving- to keep in
safe condition • Slurry- a thin mixture
of liquid • Corrugated- to
wrinkle up.
• Aerosol- a substance that is dispensed from a container as a spray of tiny solid or liquid particles in gas.
• Biodegradable-
possible to break down and make harmless by the action of living things.
HOW CAN YOU HELP
• Find a recycle center near you by gooogling the internet example: recycle centers in detroit, and that will show all the centers near you with a map.
• Always recycle all your plastic, glass, paper, and
aluminum products. Also try to get your family, friends and neighbors to do the same.
• Remember what will happen to our environment
and some of the fish we eat if we don't recycle. It is for a good cause.
WHERE I RECYCLED"Recycle Here" Detroit, MI
READING CONFLICTS
• PERSON vs NATURE: JURASSIC PARK • PERSON vs SOCIETY: CHICKEN LITTLE • PERSON vs PERSON: IGOR • PERSON vs SELF: HORTON HEARS A WHO
MATH STATISTICS1. In the process of recycling paper 58% less water is required, that means about 42% of water is actually used and that saves water when recycling paper. 2. Making cans from recycled aluminum cuts related air pollution by 95%, so only 5% of pollution is put out in the environment when recycling aluminum. 3. The average american can save 6 pounds of glass in a month, thats 72 pounds of glass a year.
CHICKEN LITTLE PERSON vs SOCIETY
Because he was trying really hard to get the city to believe in aliens.
JURASSIC PARKPERSON vs NATURE
Because the people had to battle dinasours because they were trying to eat them.
HORTON HEARS A WHOPERSON vs SELF
Because Horton believed in himself enough to get the Who's to Mount Nool.
IGORPERSON vs PERSON
Because a mad scientist name Dr. Schadenfreude threaten to take his female frankenmonster.
A M P P
The AMPP class that i want to improve in is gym doing sit-ups, and push-ups. Because i am lacking off and if i stop lacking off i will gain more strength and be stronger.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Michigan's natural resources are coal, copper, iron, salt, and limestone. We studied all these resources that are located somewhere in
Michigan.
