Mother’s Day Weekend RetreatMay 8 - 10, 2020

The theme for this women’s retreat is“Mary as the First Disciple”

If it were not for Mary’s affirmation of her trust in and relationship with God, she would not have been able to say “yes” to God’s plan for her – and by extension, His plan for us. Her faith inspires us to demonstrate the same courage and actively participate in our ongoing redemption.

With his background in Ignatian spirituality and Jesuit history, coupled with his extended experience as a teacher of literature, Manresa staff member Fr. Bob Ytsen, SJ brings a unique perspective to the retreats and days of reflection that he directs.Retreat Director

Fr. Bob Ytsen, SJ

These “in-session” dates allow for eight-day retreats as well as retreats of shorter duration. Arrival time begins 5:00 PM on the opening date of the retreat session, dinner is at 6:00 PM and the retreat itself begins at 7:30 PM. The retreat ends at 10:00 AM on the closing date of the retreat session. Alternately, individuals may choose “out-of-session”dates for individually directed retreats between September and April each year.

Sessions fill quickly, so register early!

It’s Good To Know!

Sharon SnyderDirector of

Advancement

Welcome to “It’s Good to Know,” a new feature that will appear quarterly in

Manresa Memos with articles that discuss financial planning and philanthropic goals.

As we entered 2020, a new decade, people began addressing their taxes and financial planning. Now is also the time to review your current will or trust document to determine if it meets your current goals. Another option you may consider is an estate plan. Planning is the path to creating a secure future for loved ones, knowing that your property will pass to the intended beneficiaries.

An estate plan may also serve as the instrument to create a legacy for your family and the charitable organizations that have added meaning to your

life. Manresa Jesuit Retreat House offers many choices for planned giving. One of them is to designate a gift to the St. Ignatius Legacy Society. These gifts may include bequests, appreciated securities, gifts of life insurance and gifts of retirement accounts.

In all cases, a donor contemplating a gift should consult with his/her financial, legal or tax advisors. As Manresa’s Advancement Director, I’ll be happy to help you with your questions. Please contact me at 248.644.4933 Ext. 108 or at [email protected].
