    Alternative Fueling Station Locator

Go to the Station Locator. Image of a close up map with red triangles marking a sampling of alternative fuel station locations.

The Station Locator displays public and private fueling stations, which have been independently verified by the Alternative Fuels and Advanced Vehicles Data Center (AFDC). Some stations in the database have addresses that couldn't be located by the mapping application; this may result in a station appearing in the wrong location. We recommend that you call stations you plan to visit to verify its location, hours of operation, and type of access.

The Station Locator can search the fueling station database to find stations offering compressed natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, E85, electricity, biodiesel, hydrogen, and liquefied natural gas. The results are displayed in a map with details on each station.

Detailed information for using this application is available on the Station Locator Instructions page.

The Station Locator is dynamically generated. If you are using a specialized screen reader and having difficulty understanding the page content, contact the AFDC Webmaster who can assist you with a verbal or written description.

Hydrogen Means Business in California Environmental Standards for Hydrogen Production Pursuant to Senate Bill (SB) 1505 (Statues of 2006), the California Air Resources Board (ARB) is to develop regulations for the production of hydrogen as a transportation fuel. The regulations will encompass standards for renewable energy, criteria pollutants and greenhouse gases.

Incentive Program for Alternative Fuels Pursuant to Assembly Bill (AB) 1811, the California Air Resources Board (ARB) is to develop a joint plan with the California Energy Commission (CEC) to spend $25 million for the purposes of incentivizing the use and production of alternative fuels including zero emission fuels.

    Welcome to CNGVC Online

California is the nation's leading user of natural gas vehicles (NGVs), and the California Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition (CNGVC) is devoted to ensuring that the state continues to set the pace in adopting this ready-for-prime-time clean-burning transportation technology. Our success will benefit not only our member companies, but all California residents--NGVs emit far less air pollution than gasoline or diesel vehicles (up to 95 percent less, depending on the pollutant), and natural gas is abundant and relatively cheap in North America, making it a secure energy source. CNGVC Online reflects this broad constituency. Individuals, businesses, and public entities can find out more about NGV advantages, technology, products, and training programs in the NGV Info Center. If you're already sold on NGVs, our Fuel Station Locator will let you find and map fill-up stops. And if you're a CNGVC member, CNGVC Online helps you keep in touch with colleagues, stay abreast of the latest news and learn about legislative and regulatory actions. Get Your Fueling Station Directory The 2005/2006 edition of our popular natural gas fueling station directory is available in its traditional glove-compartment-size book form. EPA's Transportation and Air Quality program protects public health and the environment by regulating air pollution from motor vehicles, engines, and the fuels used to operate them, and by encouraging travel choices that minimize emissions. These "mobile sources" include cars and light trucks, heavy trucks and buses, nonroad recreational vehicles (such as dirt bikes and snowmobiles), farm and construction machines, lawn and garden equipment, marine engines, aircraft, and locomotives. This program is managed by the Office of Transportation and Air Quality, which is part of EPA's Office of Air and Radiation.

Transportation and Air Quality Key Topics:

Overview: Pollutants and Programs: Information on how much air pollution and greenhouse gases are emitted by mobile sources, the programs OTAQ has undertaken to control these emissions, and the impact of those programs on air quality and climate change.

Consumer Information: Learn what you can do to help reduce air pollution and how to buy the

Nonroad Engines, Equipment, and Vehicles: Information about aircraft, locomotives, diesel and gasoline boats and ships, personal watercraft, lawn and garden equipment, agricultural and construction machines, and recreational vehicles (such as dirt bikes and snowmobiles): emission standards and regulations, certification and compliance, and diesel retrofit programs.

Fuels and Fuel Additives: Information on diesel, gasoline, and alternative fuels for mobile sources, fuel-quality control programs, requirements for registration and health effects testing of new fuels or fuel additives, and reporting forms.

Partnerships: Information about our partnerships to reduce air pollution associated with transportation and other mobile sources. These programs include commuter choice, diesel retrofit, buying a cleaner car or truck, and other initiatives.

State and Local Transportation Resources: Information on the ties between land use, transportation planning, and air quality. Topics includes conformity, State Implementation Plans, transportation control measures, and available funding and grants for implementation of such programs.

Modeling, Testing, and Research: Information on OTAQ models for estimating emissions from highway vehicles, nonroad sources, and fuels; how EPA tests and measures emissions; and OTAQ research into advanced technologies.

    The Clean Fuel of Choice

Economical compressed natural gas (CNG) powered vehicles, or “natural gas vehicles” (NGVs) can have an immediate and positive impact on the issues of air quality, U.S. energy security, and public health. Natural gas is one of the cleanest, least polluting fossil fuels. It also costs less at the pump than traditional fuels such as gasoline or diesel and it can help reduce our nation's reliance on imported foreign oil.

Fed up with Southern California traffic? As the owner of a dedicated natural gas vehicle, you may be entitled to use High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV or carpool) lanes, even if you are a solo driver! For more information about this program, please see the California Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition Web page.

For information about NGV fleets, please contact Southern California Gas Company's Natural Gas Vehicle Group at (213) 244-5681.
