AQUATECHHeat PumpTemperature Control System for Swimming Pools
With more and more swimming pools built at
substantial costs, efficient methods of pool heating and
cooling have become a necessity so as to provide
maximum comfort while swimming. Today, the most
inexpensiv e solution of maintainin g the pool water
temperature at comfortable levels with greater degree
of control on both new and existing installations are the
Aquatech Heat Pumps.
Because the AQUATECH Heat Pumps efficientl y
captures heat from ambient air and transfers it to
swimming pool water, it has been tested and proven to
be five times more efficient than the traditional heaters
and other conventiona l methods. Additionall y, it is
economical because it consumes minimal electricity
only to power the fan and compressor. Its operating
cost is 50 to 75 % less than natural or liquid propane
gas, 45% less than oil, 70% less than electric heaters
making the Aquatch Heat and Cool Pumps the most
economical way to heat and cool your pool.
Unlike any other unit, AQUATECH are the most reliable
and robust Heat pumps available in the market today,
which are designed and built by qualifie d and
professional engineers with the combined experience
of over 30 years. As a result , we can offer an
alternativ e over traditiona l choices for heating and
cooling solutions for pools. We have developed a
single source for not only manufacturing Heat pumps,
but for providing design, maintenance , consultancy,
installatio n and specialize d services required to
guarantee the results you demand. So on your next
project, let us help in achieving the right heating and
cooling solutions.

How Does The AQUATECH Heat Pump Work?
The AQUATECH heat pump utilizes proven refrigeran t
technology to capture latent heat from the ambient air and
transfer it to the pool water.
This is accomplishe d by utilizing minimal amounts of
electricity and Refrigerant, along with a high performance
fan, super-efficient compressor and your already existing
pool pump.
Refrigerant is used because of its ability to absorb and
transfer heat energy. The fan draws large quantities of
warm air through the evaporator coil that acts as a heat
collector. The liquid refrigerant inside the evaporator coil
absorbs the free ambient heat from the drawn-in air,
changing the liquid refrigerant into gas.
The refrigerant gas is then passed through the compressor.
The compressor compresses the refrigerant gas to increase
its pressure and temperature. This super heated gas is then
pumped to the heat exchanger condenser .
The heat exchanger then transfers the heat from the
compressed gas to the incoming pool water thus increasing
the pool water temperature. The refrigerant gas condenses
back into a liquid state and is pumped through the system
back to the evaporator coil to repeat the cycle.
As with all swimming pool heating systems, you are advised
to use a pool cover when the pool is not in use. This will keep evaporation, the greatest heat loss, to a
minimum, and so reduce the overall pool heating costs and unwanted frustrations. If no cover is used it is
essential that the heat pump be oversized accordingly.
How Efficient is it?
The efficiency of the heat pump is measured by the coefficient of performance (C.O.P.) -i.e. the ratio of
energy input to energy output. This is dependant on the ambient air temperature and the temperature of the
water of the swimming pool. For every unit of electricity AQUATECH uses, it produces 4 to 6 units of heat,
extracted from the ambient air.

XWEB500 is a WEB Server for Commercial Heat Pump installation, XWEB500 operates under LINUXO.S., it enables user to visualize and control their installations whilst providing services personnel with anintuitive, easy-to-use working environment. It supports standard browsers such as Internet Explorer®,Netscape®, Firefox® and Mozilla®.
The unit can operate either as a stand alone server by means of the local keyboard and display or inconjunction with a PC using the USB cable. Both intranet/internet remote connection and modemconnection are available via RJ45 ethernet port or via RS232 serial port. XWEB500 is compatible with WIRELESS COOL modules. These radio-connected modules avoid RS485wiring and can reduce installation costs dramatically
HEAT LOSSES IN A POOLCharacteristics of pool use are of prime importance in sizing the water heater. Sizing should be based onfour considerations.
1. Conduction through the pool walls2. Convection from the pool surface3. Radiation from the pool surface4. Evaporation from the pool surface
Except in the above ground pool and in rare cases where cold groundwater flows past the pool walls, conduction losses are small and can be ignored. Because convection losses depend on temperaturedifferentials and wind speed, these losses can be greatly reduced by the installation of windbreaks such as hedges, solid fences or buildings.
Radiation losses occur when then pool surface is subjected to temperature differentials: these frequentlyoccur on clear, cool nights. During the daytime, however, an unshaded pool will receive a large amount ofradiation energy. These losses and gains may offset each other. An easy method of controlling nighttimeradiation losses is to use a floating pool cover, this also reduces evaporative losses.
Evaporative losses constitute the greatest loss from the pool - 50-60% in most cases. If it is possible to cutevaporative losses drastically, the heating requirement of the pool may be cut by as much as 50%. Thefloating pool cover can accomplish this reduction.
