What is a verb?

• Verbs show action in a sentence.

Verb Conjugation• When a verb is conjugated it means that the verb now has a

subject and a tense.• To talk

is not conjugated, we don’t know who is talking.• She talks

is conjugated, we know who is talking.

When conjugating verbs in Spanish, the following endings are used.

To conjugate an “ar” verb• drop the “ar” from the end of the infinitive• hablar > habl• add the endings for “ar” verbs.
