1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

1.5.3 Store products in manufacturer's original packaging until ready for installation, in climate controlled location away from direct sunlight.

1.6 PROJECT CONDITIONS

1.6.1 Install products in an interior climate-controlled environment.

2.2.5 Braille: Grade 2 Braille produced with the Raster Method, patented process for placing Braille on signage. Raster Braille is computer engineered using a carbide-engraving bit, press-fit tool with vacuum pump and UV stable acrylic rasters.

2.3 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS - GENERAL

2.3.1 Provide photopolymer signage that conforms to the requirements of all regulatory agencies holding jurisdiction and the quality control of InPro SignScape.

2.3.2 Provide Glow in the Dark, photoluminescent material that complies with applicable provisions of ASTM E 2073 and DIN 67510. Photoluminescent material must have up to 8 hours of luminance.

2.3.3 Compliance:2.3.3.1 Comply with all applicable provisions of the ADA and ANSI A117.1.2.3.3.2 Character Proportion: Letters and numbers on signs must have a width-to-height

ratio between 3:5 and 1:1 and a stroke width-to-height ratio between 1:5 and 1:10.

2.3.3.3 Color Contrast: Characters and symbols must contrast with their background - either light characters on a dark background or dark characters on a light background.

2.3.3.4 Raised Characters or Symbols: Letters and numbers on signs must be raised 1/32 inch (0.8 mm) minimum and be sans serif characters. Raised characters or symbols must be at least 5/8 inch (16 mm) high, but no higher than 2 inches (50 mm). Symbols or pictograms on signs must be raised 1/32 inch (0.8 mm) minimum.

2.3.3.5 Symbols of Accessibility: Accessible facilities required to be identified, must use the international symbol of accessibility.

2.3.3.6 Braille: Grade II with accompanying text.

2.3.4 Fire Performance Characteristics:2.3.4.1 Provide photopolymer signage with surface burning characteristics that consist

of a flame spread of 75 and a smoke development of 120 when tested in accordance to UL 723 (ASTM E 84).

2.3.4.2 Self Extinguishing: Provide photopolymer signage with a CC1 classification for .060 inch thick material, when tested in accordance with the procedures in ASTM D 635, Standard Test Method for Rate of Burning and/or Extent and Time of Burning Plastics in a Horizontal Position.

2.3.4.3 Vertical Burn: Provide photopolymer material that is classified as 94V-2 for material .118 inches thick or greater and 94HB for material .118 inches thick or less when tested in accordance with UL 94, Tests for flammability pf Plastic Materials for Parts in Devices and Appliances.

2.3.4.4 Self Ignition Temperature: Provide photopolymer material that has a self ignition temperature of 800 degrees F (427 degrees C) when tested in accordance with ASTM D 1929.

3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

3.1.1 Verify that wall surface is dry and free from dirt, grease, and loose paint.

3.1.2 Complete all finishing operations, including painting, before beginning installation of signage systems.

3.1.3 Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

3.1.4 If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.1.5 Examine signage for defects prior to installation. Do not install damaged signage.

3.2 PREPARATION

3.2.1 Verify mounting heights and locations comply with referenced standards.

3.2.2 Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation to remove dust, debris and loose particles.

3.2.3 Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

3.3.1 Locate the signage system as indicated on drawings for the appropriate substrate and in accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions.
