THE BOTTLE PROJECT OPEN The bottle project involved the deconstruction, digital representation and physical construction of a common plastic bottle. The first phase of the project consisted of dissection and scanning of the plastic bottle so as to attain a sectional analysis of the form. The second phase translated these photographs into sketched schematic drawings which would be later digitized, in phase three. Next, the overall dynamic of the plastic bottle was expressed in phase four through a hybrid representation of the sectional views. Next, the bottle was modeled digitally in phase five. Phase six, the final phase, consisted of using this digital model to form two dimensional cross sections of the bottle to be laser cut out of acrylic. This thorough process of deconstruction and reconstruction, is documented in this brochure. LIFT FLIP Cut Sketch 2D Digital Hybrid 3D Digital Model Thomas McCormick ARCH 199 DDR1
